    Curious how have the crowds been there this season? Still a ghost town like last year or…?

    I'd say numbers are up but I've still only waited in one tiny line over the holidays. Although I think the video accurately captures the crowds.

    Not sure about posting in your thread. Another maggot says you're kind of a jerk - mikey b is his name.

    Posted here to give some Tahoe peeps a less crowded option. No lines yesterday and plenty of steep pow in Grizzly. No lines today and plenty of untracked in Snow Valley. Surely when the bottom side gates are closed the resort feels small, but when open, it's big, and it often feels like inbounds sidecountry.

    Quality laps were had, with minimal trail breaking.

    Went to Sierra at Tahoe and found heavy cut up/skier packed powder in the morning under overcast skies followed by a small window of sunshine in the afternoon. The winds kicked up after lunch and firmed up and filled in the West Bowl area with a fun, chalky dusting for the best runs of the day. The Caldor Fire turned the West Bowl area from narrow tree lined runs to a vast, open bowl. Dang.

    As expected following a holiday weekend, it was not crowded at all, and traffic was light on the morning drive up and the afternoon drive back down. Sweet.

    @climberevan damn impressive numbers.

    Alpine Meadows, 10:30am, Treeline is still the only thing open, mid-mountain only. Lift line ~25-35min wait.

    You should consider joining ski talk or epic ski if you’re going to complain about weather related closures. Everyone here thinks you’re an idiot

    Chase is a moron tourist complaining about weather related closures at Alpine and Mammoth. He thinks they’re restricting access to terrain so Alterra can sell more burgers

    Maybe OP should try the Midwest. Not a lot of mountain that can be closed there.
