Thanks Powdork...had to be October 2004. I had to switch hosting plans so most of my old photos need to be rehosted and not sure I will ever have time to do that haha.

Great they're opening, but Heavenly only as high as Powderbowl. No Canyon, no Sky. (Although like everything that could change, I guess.)

For down the road the new North Bowl high speed quad lift should make storm days, when Stagecoach often stays open when wind shuts down a lot of other stuff, more interesting. Laps in the woods and inner burn area will suddenly be a lot more doable.

I'm guessing they'll have gunbarrel/face closed off. That could be an awesome 1st day scene!
I liked N.bowl lift better when it was under used. Managed to score a surprise spring pow day in there, end of last season. A poignant bye bye.
Makes sense for parking at boulder though.

I've honestly had early season days where I rode GC at least 20 times. Low tide can be fun linking up various stump-drops and what have you while getting your legs back in shape.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

I turned around at 11. At least tomorrow it will have already settled a bunch from today. The bigger worry were the two groups about an hour above that could be coming down while I'm switchbacking between the walls. There were quite a few cars at the other trailhead

Man, you are a lot more courageous than me, to ski this low tide stuff.
    Mountain biking tomorrow.

Are we sure about that? The old North Bowl lift was always closed in high winds because of one 30' spot where it went over a ridge. I'd like to think the new one is routed more intelligently, but we're talking about Heavenly here...where all lifts must be routed so as to make everyone hike across a massive flat spot, or go on wind hold any time there's enough of a breeze to fly a kite.

    Jackets hanging ready...
    passes in the pocket.

    Boot bags packed and waiting...
    helmets, gloves and goggles.
Skis and poles are ready, after summers long hiatus.

Base layer chosen. Maybe get a buff?
Don't forget the hot packs, are you sure you have enough?

Here's to silly people, doing stupid things. Yes, we should know better, but dang how my soul sings!

At least the rep gets paid to put up with your entitled attitude. Try to remember you're asking somebuddy for their labor and time.
