Nope I'm working that night (seems everyone else took off to go to some concert...) so I'll be keeping it close to home.

It was cold last night--Donner Lake froze over--not common in March.

Friend saw it there on the morning of the 15th, speculates that it went on Tuesday at the end of the storm cycle

And that’s why trees don’t exist in certain places— the 100-year slide path.

I have been skiing in that area since l was a teen a long, long time ago. In fact the bottom was our original approach track when we used to park at the end of Pomo. I have only seen it run the full length a couple of times in 50yrs. It looks as though it ran the path and then some! Propagated outside its lateral boundaries, I have never seen it go that big!

The lookers right has always been one of my favorite corn slopes.

Wild! No mention on SAC. So someone went to the trouble to send a drone up there and didn't bother to tell the local avalanche forecasting center about their findings? What's the thought process there?

Haha. I posted that on SAC, just in case they hadn't heard of it otherwise. My question is why didn't the people who were actually there post it?

Drone might have crossed a teeny bit into wilderness to film the crown perhaps?

Looks like it was quite an avi cycle this past week. Did we have a relatively big natural cycle in 10/11?

Yup that is still the preferred general approach, although skinning left or right of the gully itself is the norm.

I lose track of the years, but I think I saw a somewhat significant slide in there around 2006? Not as big as this one for sure.
