It’s a sticker being plastered all over. In the same color and font as keep squaw true.
    Woosh.

The crossover Gondi is interesting. Not sure if it’s paying off. Rarely occupied.

Anyone have numbers on how many days it actually ran this winter. Seems like it was on wind hold a lot. I have still yet to ride it for any reason.

TAHOE 22/23 -THE YEAR OF THE (t)RAM

I can’t think of any locals I know that don’t try to avoid using the squaw name

On the other hand, Palisades absolutely sucks as a name and it feels like everyone is still grappling for a suitable alternative

Alpine Meadows is still the name there tho. Full stop

The b2b gondola is for cowards

Switching back to other topics. Smoothie was all time this morning. Hiked Granite for few turns down to the smoothie traverse.

I refuse to call it palisades. The name is the worst. Sounds like a condo complex. I call it Olympic valley or just The Valley. But sometimes I still call it squaw out of habit and sometimes call it "Snownook" I don't want people to get confused when i say I skied the palisades. Which by the way have been skiing great the last few days.

Oh and what's up with n* opening at 10. What a way to build early morning gondola lines. Here mammoth is opening earlier this time of year and northstar is going the other way. Can't understand this industry at all.

$525 would get it done. Still have that NM copy looking for the right buyer.

Had a great week at squaw alpine. I forgot how hudge and awesome that place is. Sunshine corn delight. Steeps chutes and fun.

    Psst. It’s still squaw

In the context of the s-word discussion above, typing n* almost makes it seem like a swear word lol

Being I tourist I rode it. Had a few good runs on Scott chair. And some low angle corn with lake views on Sherwood. That was fun. I skied most of the run without looking forward. Just stare off to the left at the lake and let kinesthesia take care of the skiing. Trippy fun.

But it was dead. No vibe. No crowds. No energy. The whole family demanded to go back after a few runs.

PS. No full stop. I was shocked the signage is Palisades Alpine.
    The meadows are deadnamed.
Couldn’t it be palisades alpine meadows?

Anyways. What a great mountain. You could call it a steaming pile of shit and it is still perhaps the best resort in the us.

Did you lose a ski brake on Tamarack Peak?

I found this brake on the skin track up to Tamarack Peak today. I think it's a Salomon Shift brake. I put it on top of the beacon checkpoint at the trailhead. I hope that it finds its way back home.

Skied Mini yesterday as it looked smoother than halls, 2:30 was pretty good timing for it

Yeah, i was tracks in the mini today, looked good.

I ended up booting back up the couloir, glad i have my crampons on. Which i always put on climbing a couloir, regardless of conditions. Except for powder when i put my verts on.
