With this surge of heavy precipitation, we will also see a surge of warmer air and rising snow levels. Snow levels could start out between 8000-9000 ft. Monday evening but then rise up above 10,000 ft. by early Tuesday morning, maybe even higher.

TAHOE 22/23 -THE YEAR OF THE (t)RAM

    Since we're reposting PSAs

Never mind. App sucks and won't let me post photo.

Just wanted to show a tweet saying they're working on the gondola at Palisades and hope to reopen next week.

I'd be shocked (and impressed) If KW was that flexible with dynamic pricing.

Merry Christmas ya'll. Enjoying the snow stoke. Feeling the FOMO for sure.

As for phone posting, I find the site on Safari, switch to Desktop mode, and then spend a minute loading each pic, and hope the site does not reset. Its a complete PITA.

I made it up before Christmas to take my Avy 1 course with Tahoe Mountain School. It was a really good experience and I felt like I learned a lot. I had a good group and a very good instructor. The snow was generally super stable, but I still felt like I gained knowledge/experience reading terrain and snow, and I credit that to the instructor who did a good job striking a balance between sharing expert knowledge and letting us make reads then building on that.

Also the little tour that made up the second day was a good time. We started from Summit Haus, skinned up Judah Peak, along the edge of Sugar Bowl, skied down the saddle toward Donner Peak, then skinned up that. Found some good snow skiing NW off Donner, then came down through Poop Chute. The snow wasn't amazing foe thr most part, but it was a good day.

anybuddy notice this little tidbit at the bottom of this afternoons nws?
After Friday, ensembles are indicating the pattern will remain
active through the first half of next week. The GFS/EC IVT plumes
have also been consistent in indicating moisture throughout next
weekend. Timing of these upcoming storms are still to be determined,
although it`s becoming likely they will be cooler and wetter than
    this upcoming week.
the 'cooler' is awesome, the 'and wetter' is a tad scary in terms of feet of snow

Yeah. I mean, I posted several photos of hoars just last week. It's had problems before, but usually just a restart or try again later solution. Now it just won't post pics at all.

    Red sky this morning, folks...

    Last night tho...

(Was able to post photo with tapatok, which also has problems such as having to manually browse to subscribed threads so words with tgr app and use TT for photos [emoji2362][emoji1748][emoji1589])

100% man. Would love to get some Frushtime. Has been forever and a day and would be great to make up for some of that.

39 degrees and raining at lake level. No chains on 50. Chains on 80 and snow over the summit, so there's cold air moving south that hasn't arrived yet.

The Sierra Avalanche Center in Truckee has issued a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains between Yuba Pass (Hwy 49) on the north and Ebbetts Pass (Hwy 4) on the south, including the greater Lake Tahoe area through Wed AM,

Yah. Coming heavy. Rain all night over here on the east side of Truckee at 7k. Super heavy at times. Lots of wind. I'm sure I have some trees down. I'll investigate later today. Power is still on. Woot!!

Seems to be colder than forecast. Carson pass snotel recorded snow the whole time and it's now snowing below 7k.
