Long shot, but does anyone in Truckee have some QK or Binding Freedom fasteners for ATK Raiders/Voyagers I could buy or borrow? 8mm flathead, 12mm long M5. I went to Ace and I'd need to grind down anything they have in stock.

Iirc 10/11 was much more bomber and didn’t have as the heavy duty rain to the top after huge cold dumps. I kinda recall one upside down storm but fairly early on and bonded. Maybe I’m just misremembering because that was such an awesome season but seems like over all it was not bad for big slides. I bet I’m forgetting something tho the more I think about it

Of course, finding parking that isn't a ways up there, is key...

I’ve got a few extra bolts for you but not enough. But I did grind down a whole new set this week. Takes 5 minutes with a clamp, a file and a drill. If you don’t have the stuff and want to drive to Reno I can help you out.
you could also probably buy the bolts from Ace and go to the Backcountry and ask to use some tools for 5 minutes. I wouldn’t be surprised if a 6 pack get the bolts ground down for you.

Kirkwood was so fun today it was stupid. I was not expecting how good the snow was gonna be.

Corn skiing has been ridiculously good the last 3 days, got first tracks in this chute 3 days ago and went back yesterday with friends to do it again.
Speaking of drones in wilderness some fuck was buzzing around me with one today while getting ready to drop a line, gave it the finger 3 times. Then as I’m dropping a 50 degree face with exposure he buzzes right over me, pretty annoying.

Yeah, you don't need a drone hassling you skiing something like that. Or anything else. The Russians had the right idea.
Some asshole was buzzing my son as he was leading a 5.10B thin face. I had words. (No, I didn't follow the pitch. Just along to belay.)

Heavenly also better than expected the last few days. Bluebird Saturday yesterday really hit the spot, things softened up nicely. Missed the Mott opening today but ah well, had to get back to reality, BOO, HISS!

Got up above 8500 ft for the first time in like six weeks yesterday, skied the south face of Slide down into the upper part of Ophir Creek drainage. I was a bit uncertain about chasing solar at that elevation, but figured the March sun had already cooked it enough. Sure enough, primo melt-form already formed on the due south face. Feels weird to say it, but I'm already looking forward to when the storms are cleared out and it's all corn.

The Palisades conditions were unique on Saturday. The rain and freeze cycle smoothed over the mountain...many places no mogul texture at all which made for a bit more straight lining. Firm morning to cooler spring like in the afternoon snow temperatures. I hit the Sports Basement Demo hard. Tried 10 skis over six hours, Red Dog to KT and back for consistency. Funny I didn't ski a ski I didn't like, and loved a few of them...TECH TALKL BRO!!!
