We've got ikon passes but might look at doing lessons at boreal or tahoe donner to make it less painful on the wallet.
We did the Summiteers program at alpine last year for our 5 year old. 8 out of 11 Sundays starting the week after New Years. She skied with the same instructor and group every week. Pretty amazing the difference from the beginning of the season to the end.

They raised the price this year to $1,500 (or at least that's what it was for a "returning child" when they opened registration over the summer). I think it was $1,200 the year prior. We didn't sign up this year.

Apparently a semi somewhere behind me couldn’t go around this guy, hit him and went off the road

So I turned around and went home.

The weight of all the Christmas mugs broke the chains on the specialized tow truck they brought in to pull out the semi. The road remains closed and they'll try again tomorrow

The semi driver and passenger jumped out! Must have been a sight. Glad no one hurt.

Most of the camps are sold out, and I can't tell about the miniature teams. However...

If you're willing to commit to some minimum number of days teaching they'd probably sign you right up. Based on your experience wrangling 4 year olds, and xx years skiing, not to mention over 2K posts on TGR.
This is what I'm doing to get my kid past the huge waitlist and into Mighty Mites. I'm kind of stoked to have my first ski job ever as an assistant coach.

Another ski instruction option is Sky Tavern. Sky Tavern has been great for the past two seasons for ski instruction for my kid. It's around $400 for 8 weekends of instruction, plus a commitment to assist with ski instruction. The sky kids for 4 and 5 year old skiers is already full for this season, but there's still availability for older kids. I won't miss the 45 minute drive each way from Truckee to Mt. Rose though.

Anyone else see a fireball streak across the sky around 7:26 PM today? Saw it while driving north on 580 in south Reno, plunging towards the ground to the northwest somewhere.

I figured that was the case which is bullshit. I’d rather pay an instructor directly but I realize the mtn wants their cut.

It's frustrating how much they've started overcharging for lessons for the past several years. It's nearly triple what it was 10-12 years ago. And then they always say they're trying to grow the sport.
