Outstanding!
I had worked pretty hard on my Spanish, got down on myself a few times for sure. Glad to hear more confirmation on the tough Spanish down there.
Definitely hoping for another trip down in a couple years….

Thanks for all the report! Understand not wanting to blow up the spot but that's a pretty niche ski touring destination. I doubt it will ever get crowded (remote, bad weather, adventure) and the locals would probably appeciate some tourists. Just in case you wanna name some peaks 😉
I have a friend from study abroad many years ago who is from Coyhaique that I would like to visit. A good excuse to bring skis down.
Felicitaciones por el viaje. De acuerdo que el chileno es otra cosa que el castellano

We did fly to Coyhaique, and spent the whole trip south of there, down to about 48 degrees. After a few weeks, I’m inclined to agree somewhat that the weather and other factors will keep it pretty quiet. Definitely worth a visit! I also think Coyhaique will continue to grow into a sporting hub for the Aysen, there’s a decent number of local kayakers too. It’ll be interesting to see how it looks in a years or decades.

Ok, revisiting this now during an unproductive day at work. A lot to unpack here, what a cool trip!
Even the low-hanging fruit roadside looks incredible.
