What's crazier, that AZ is having a great year in a La Nina cycle, or that the first $300+ day ticket is in AZ?
Great shots, looks fun!

Dynamic pricing bullshit. The Forest Service really is fulfilling their pledge of "caring for the land and serving people" by allowing their leaseholders to get away with this shite.

Good stuff raisingarizona.
That night I had a dream. I dreamt I was as light as the ether- a floating spirit visiting things to come. The shades and shadows of the people in my life rassled their way their way into my slumber.

Awesome pics! I linked this thread to my buddy's kid who is considering college in Flagstaff.
A friend who winters in Tucson sent me pics of Mt. Lemmon the other day. His comment: "Finally skied it. Fun, good conditions and old growth trees. You have to watch your back because the out of control novice factor was off the charts." Yeah I bet lol.
He was pretty damn psyched to be skiing near Tucson though. They're going to do a ski road trip up through New Mexico and N. AZ, etc. Kinda jealous!

Yeah man, I've been saying that NAU is starting to become one of the best ski bum colleges in the country now that there's snowmaking and reliability. When it doesn't snow they still get things open and it's much warmer and sunnier than neighbors to the north and if you want to escape winter to a different shade of the season it's a short drive away. The place is jam packed with yoots having a good time. there's an emphasis on the park too right after opening week. Every weekend there's live music and DJ's at every lodge. I'm getting old and out of touch but it looks like a hoot to be a student here.

I should add, this is a really fantastic place to get your toes wet with back country skiing. Our snow pack is generally extremely stable compared to most other places and very forgiving for newbies.

As probably the only one on this board that was born and raised a skier in Tucson, (51 years now) l'll say that I've had my most amazing ski days ever on Mt Lemmon. It is also the most profoundly frustrating place to be a skier, road doesnt get open, employees not skiers, etc. area cant get open for days after the storm, 9 day seasons. I landed in Montana for a reason. Glad your buddy had a good day!
