So the Hurricanes/Lightning game has been postponed/moved because of a hurricane. Tampa's coming up here to play it at the Hurricanes' building.

I’m no Hurricanologist but with a counter clockwise churn the surge and flooding would be worse south of the eye on the west coast of Florida. Cape Coral / Naples area.

But this thing is big and slow so sounds like it will dump buckets of rain. I predict Tampa is spared the worst. And I will edit and delete that last sentence if I’m wrong.

Google sez it's about 90 miles from North Port to Tampa so that track is still close, and there's a lot of people just to the south in Ft. Myers, Cape Coral etc. Be nice if this thing would thread the needle.

Not worried much about the house. Landscaping will be toast.

Last time we had family flee a hurricane up north here the remnants came through N Ga and spun off so many tornadoes the damage was worse here than it was on the coast. 100 year old trees down everywhere and power out for days.

Be careful which way you head Bobby.

Wrong about there being a hurricane? I'll wager zero percent chance.

Sea levels a foot higher than 1921 when the last great hurricane came through. Some sobering possible scenarios here.

My in-laws just finished building a house on the canals in the area marked with the blue X below. They were going to move in on Monday. The house is approx 10 ft above sea level. I wonder if it will still be there tomorrow.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Someone needs to get an aerial view when the eye passes directly over the Rotunda.

^^^That far in it's probably the tornadoes more than the storm gails that will be leveling buildings, especially modern buildings.
