PSA: Ibis bikes 40+% off Competitive Cyclist

Holy shit. Kinda wish I hadn’t bought my Ripmo AF past month. Is Ibis going out of business or something?

    Ripmo carbon XT $4000: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/i...-mountain-bike

Same bike but with carbon wheelset/I9 hubs $4700: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/i...-mountain-bike

Ripley carbon with GX $3200: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/i...-mountain-bike

For sure. I'd gone back and forth on the Ripmo AF SLX which was on sale for $3200, so this sounded great. I probably would have gotten the carbon SLX, but they didn't have it in XL.

... and I just impulse-bought an XL carbon Ripmo frame to compliment all the fancy bits I've been throwing on the metal version I bought in February.

Thanks for the PSA! That shit just saved me two grand.

Booo, I had the last Medium SLX in my cart and hit buy, and somebody snagged it right before me. Then the XT sold out as I transitioned to that.

One indicator of hitting a price bottom is when people are buying completes to part out again, as they are being blown out.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I would have gotten a ripley if they had any left in stock. They have a few mojos at crazy good prices too if you can live with smaller wheels

Pretty wide spread sale...20% off all full priced items. Gotta be some exclusions, but this isn't Jenson.

Fuuuuck. I was literally looking at these bikes on their site earlier today and they were full price, maybe one build was 15% off.

an slx or xt carbon ripmo is my dream bike (and I cracked my frame on my current FS bike yesterday…)

Ibis Facebook page is pretty sure this was a pricing error. Makes sense as today the Ripmo is back to full price with 1 available.

Hope they honor the mistake and ship out for you guys!

Acquaintance of mine is a big Ibis dealer and did a IG story sneak preview of the new one, looks like it's going to use the new SRAM universal hanger, have a new integrated rubber chainstay guard, and was a nice looking blue-ish grey carbon Ripmo I think.. Pretty good marketing ploy on his part.

And...it was an error. A Backcountry gearhead just called and told me that they won't honor the price. They did offer 25% off, which isn't terrible, if the XT/Factory build isn't available, I'd probably just get something less blingy in the $3-4000 range.

Yeah... honestly I could afford the $5500 if I felt like it. It's a good price in the current market for what you get. I just don't feel like it after believing they were going to give me it for $4000.

If anyone had a Ripmo L they’re gonna throw back, hmu. -25% would probably be worth it for me.

Can they not honor the price? Its not like they lose money on the deal, they just dont make any. 40% off is not an unheard of discount and is not large enough to be obviously in error.
