    Jackson and Grand Teton mid-October?

I see a good deal on flights to Jackson in the middle of October. How's that time of year? Seems like the weather could be warm or there could be snow, but I feel like there should be outdoor stuff to do either way. What think the local experts here?

I can’t speak for the weather but Rideit will let you take his dog for a hike

"it could be warm, or there could be snow, but there will be outdoor stuff to do" pretty well covers it, I think.

October is usually awesome. Except sometimes it's not. You should go.

There is usually some good mountain biking left, I am usually riding on dirt until the second week of November, sometimes into December.

I was thinking the same thing early to mid october long weekend that 5-7 days got to come up and look at some real estate so I have lots of questions

someones driveway? anywhere I can park in town? #vanlife
is it ok if my dog runs free?
can I ride my mtn bike still? do you guys have trails there? what bike should I bring?
best place to pick up hot 25 year old girls?
best place to get drunk with the locals?
    is weed legal?
will someone famous be there in october so I can meet them?
best place to buy a t shirt?
will it be busy? or is the off season with just the core locals who can't afford to goto thiland to meet ladyboys?

the ave high is 58* in October and the ave low is 28* so it will be on the cooler side but probably still some great animal watching in the Park too.
You might experience some restaurant closures but I think the ones that close in the off season tend to close around Nov 1 through Thanksgiving so you should be mostly good to go in October.
We could meet up for a 5:30pm beer and Jeopardy round at one of the bars with a TV too if it’s rainy and you are stuck inside

Sounds good! I did pull the trigger. Ended up using miles since it only required 15k. Looking forward to it.

What's the thought on carrying bear spray while hiking? Is it actually necessary in GTNP?

That's clear. Rentals look to be pretty cheap and widely available.

Make sure you hook up with Djongo for a Seano Boilermaker (tm)……I absolve myself of any liability for what happens after.

This is definitely true. I'll stick to fairly short front country hikes to minimize the risk.
