Dumping in Klosters. Confirmed the Gotschnabahn out of service for rest of season, so have to train around to Davos.

One of the best ski times I've ever had was when at mtn_lodge, covid hit and all the lifts shut down all over Europe.

Every day, we'd get up not knowing what was in store, have a great breakfast of the best coffee, cheeses, charcuterie, fruit and muesli and ankle it up that squat huff to the train station with hopes running up the skipole.

We'd wait, the trains came on time, the conductor would get out of the train to look down the link of cars to see us climbing aboard, and that was the last we'd see of the conductor. We'd typically ride the train up to the Oberalp Pass, get out and skin to long runs of corn in the warming sun. Up to the top of the gondy. Over to the top of Tschamut. Up to The Maigels Hutte, then up Piz Cavradi. Started up the Pazzolastock, but skin and snow problems cut that short, so we did the entire up and down from Oberalp Pass, over Tschamut, down into ValVal and up and over to Dieni, rolling down that long goattrack back to beers on the sunny deck with empty quiet streets.

I'll never forget it. I can't begin to thank vendul and S for their spirit, camaraderie, great food, excellent beer, wine and gourmandos as well as snug beds during that week. I miss seeing all you kooks, shroom & ms shroom, twat, carvehard, et al and I sure as hell hope I can make it back there soon.

I hope all you fuckers have a great time this year.

Serena and I had to wait for COVID to hit to get a nice ski vacation with good friends great food (at least the Duck breast) ... and all of this without leaving Home... that was a treat! I often think about those days and all of a sudden I find myself smiling .... That's a good sign.
    Thank you guys

I'm gonna cancel hotel for Klosters and come directly to Mt Lodge, Sedrun for March 26. I have the reservation there until March 31. So I'll play it by ear and see what Vendul is able to do.

    See some of y'all soon!
Cool, so carvehard is in! Anyone else going to make it?
I see possibly 30+ more cms between Friday and Sunday. Freezing levels dropping Friday night.

Packing my bags and burning question on my mind is 99mm/179cm or 105mm/184cm underfoot?

When I asked earlier, vendul mentioned that would be the optimal range...

Bring the sticks you’ll want if conditions are good. You can rent a groomer ski anywhere.

Take both! I'm just back from La Grave and I had 106 for lift served and 102 for touring. I didn't regret lugging both skis.

It has become quite likely. The different Model Ensembles agree.

Since disentis depends on a stronger northerly flow there should be a lot more up high than in the valley (duh..I know. But here its because the valley is behind the main alpine ridge..not because of low elevation)

But even after this dump getting into the valley will be funky.

Almost halfway through my journey with a 40lb ski bag, and 2 back packs, 10 & 20 lbs, I'd consider renting next time. Zurich Main Station is HUDGE! Getting worn out from lugging shit around
