    RIP.

    Queen Consort Camilla. ....Oh lord!

Can't wait for the next version of Punk rockers from the UK come up with a song for this.

She is definitely at the top of my list of people that I would have loved to have shared a meal with. History will remember her fondly, if for no other reason that she ruled almost as long as Louis IV.

King Charles III, He should show away the "Charles" and rename himself King Arthur.

Welp, there goes my chances at a QC!

    She was like Canada's grandma.

We probably kept the monarchy mostly because of her.

Now that she is gone, it can go as well.

You should probably check with Cono whether this kind of language is acceptable.

Pic’s of Charles on the currency? No thanks!

Good opportunity for a clean break.

Think about all the coin designs that need to be rejiggered now...

I'm sure there are minor things to quibble about, but I think by and large Elizabeth comported herself with grace and dignity. She will be missed dearly.

This is true, but now that she is gone, the lid is off the pot on her worthless heirs.

other than security when the royals visit I don't think they really have any effect or cost Canada $

Canada was always self governing but major changes could only be made without Britain since 1982 as I understand

Well this post is certainly bringing out the ugly in people. Always a let down when you see behind the curtain.

Yeah it's a shame--what's wrong with you people?

I think the fear here is that people's regularly scheduled weekend TV programming is now going to be interrupted by hastily put together documentaries on her life and funerary coverage.

Fuck the King. Charles is a soggy wanker.

Fuck royalty in general, but especially fuck Charles.

At least Elizabeth II was a classy lady. RIP

She was a global icon, and as AD said, carried herself with grace and dignity, but if you’re concerned about what you’re seeing behind the curtains here, I’d suggest not snooping too much around Buckingham Palace; you probably wouldn’t like what you find.

This will be my last memory of her. I enjoyed this for whatever reason... Seemed like a nice lady. I don't want to know the dirt. There's plenty of that to pin on Charles where it belongs...

Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

It's not much but it's not nothing:

    https://www.monarchist.ca/images/CMN...Crown_2019.pdf

I suppose the real question is why? There are some benefits I suppose- the visits bring out the tourists. Having a head of state outside the country makes us less American. There is maybe a benefit to having a escape hatch from constitutional crises etc.

But with that comes the not being a true democracy (on paper if not practically). All the Vice regals, Lt. Governors etc. etc. And basically having King "I wanna be a..." Charles as head of state.

Time to let it all go.

(With apologies to my Grandma who was a very loyal subject- and would not want me mentioning the then Princes' proclivities)
