Hoping to sell the Nexus unmounted so may never know. Couple of sniffs on those so we’ll see. Ya never know. If I keep both maybe I’ll ski one on each foot for ya.

And I predict banditman will succumb in the next year.

    Nordica Unleashed 108

    Sold my 2020 179cm Enforcer 104, M-Free 99s and my new, unmounted 183cm Season Nexus….for this ski.

I think it was a good call.

    180cm Nordica Unleashed 108 details….

Length = measures a true 180cm (I measure along the base at 180cm with soft tape or ~177.8cm tip to tail straight pull).

Rec bump is approx -8cm. Shocker….I’m mounting +2cm.

Has that quality Nordica feel. Graphics are subdued, classier/better than the Enforcer “mountain look”. Smooth surface will shed snow. May be bad for stickers.

Weight (website says 2,070 gm per?):

    2050 gm
    +
    1,982 gm

    Shape:

Love that the camber is very minimal (1-2mm) when the skis are just sitting together (see pic 3). Reminds me of the Faction Candide 4.0. There is not a lot of change in the ski’s camber profile when de-cambered with strap tight at boot center (pic 2). But there is a very subtle rocker that goes a bit deeper than the deep tip/tail splay (pic 6).

Love the fat tips with no real taper. Again like a Candide 5.0 (which I own and love) or an Icelantic Nomad 115. Big tips = grip on groomers and in sketchy steeps, when edge engaged. Minimal camber will keep them maneuverable.

Very happy with the initial look/feel of these.

PS I just saw them at Urban Alpine in Squamish for $699CDN ($520US). Banditman I can pick up and store for you if you want a pair?

Mounting mine with gold Pivot 15s shortly.

Those look pretty sweet and one I'm definitely interested in hearing how they ski. While I'm an MFree fan, I've been known to have a wandering eye.

Will be interested to hear what you think of those KC!
Was pondering a set myself as I too love the low tapered designs. Waiting for the Black Ops 108 coming out in February to see what it’s like too. Hoping it’s a bit heavier with a longer turning radius similar to the 118.

Plus Candide’s new line might have options in that width range when they are released.

Is a Feb release confirmed for the BO108? Very interested in those as well as the Unleashed 108. I hope the Black Ops comes in a ~184 length at around 2200-2300 grams.

Would love the same type of specs as well. Would be my dream 21 Faction CT 2.5 that was never made.

You can see rubber dampening tip, tail and underfoot in the construction pics and a very consistently high sidewall height on the completed skis leaning to a solid flex throughout. Should be similar flex to the 118 I think with only the extreme tip/tail softer.

    Nordica Unleashed 108

    Drifting threads….

I almost bought the 182 BO 98 when I got the 180 Season Aero 96.

What lengths will the Rossi B108 be?

Haven’t heard available BO 108 lengths but hope they don’t just do 10cm gaps like their other skis.
Glad Nordica did 180cm, 186cm and 191cm lengths on the Unlesshed 108.
    Can’t wait to compare them.

    Nordica Unleashed 108

The Unleashed 108's are gonna be unleashed this weekend at Whistler. Gold P15s look fine. Liking this 108's shape with the minimal camber.

Will report back early next week.

This looks like a Xmas card.....

    Nordica Unleashed 108

Nordica Unleashed 108 quick review after 1 day:

    Ski: Nordica Unleashed 108 (180cm), Specs: 141/108/130, 19m tr, mounted at +2cm, = approx.-6cm.

Skier: 175 lbs, 5’7” (171cm), ski from a centered stance, like mounts -4cm to -6cm, prefer rocker or minimal (1-2mm) camber only.

    Boots: Head Kore 130.

    Skis I’ve owned/own recently and Iiked: Faction CT 5.0, 4FRNT Renegade/Hoji/Raven, Nordica Enforcer 104 Free, Rustler 11, M-Free 99, Icelantic Nomad 105/115, Season Aero.

Test conditions: Whistler bluebird one day after a 30cm dump. Stood in line at Harmony for an hour to get fresh tracks, as it wasn't open the day before. Skied the Unleashed 108 all day….mostly soft groomers, soft bumps, packed pow in the trees and some man-made ice and a couple of runs in sweet, untracked 30 cm fresh pow.

    Initial thoughts:

Damn I’m glad I own this ski. Not trying to tell you it’s for you, or that it’s a the new “tgr” bad ass ski but if you’ve read previous stuff I’ve written about skis that I like, the Unleashed 108 checks all the boxes for me. This ski and a Faction CT 5.0 and I would be happy.

    Why I liked it:

Maneuverability: It pivots in tight spots extremely well. The camber underfoot is minimal which allows this. And the big upturned tail releases easily. Perfect in steeps, bumps and trees. Slarve it or carve, it doesn't care. 9/10.

Carving/groomers: It carves on groomers pretty well for a 108mm. Not like you’re on rails like an M102, and less damp than the Enforcer 104, but it’s got respectable power on groomers when you engage the whole ski. There is not a ton of early rise in the tip and tail, so when its laid on edge the Unleashed’s grip is good. Chattered a bit on the icy, man-made snow on the ski out to Creekside but most skis would. 7.5/10.

Powder: the tip is 141mm, tail is 130mm, so enough area to float, but the 108 mm still allows you to ski "in" the snow, and get face shots. No tip dive even when mounted +2cm (stay centered though). 8.5/10.

Overall impression …it feels like an easier to ski Candide 4.0? Or a snappier Icelantic Nomad 105? Or a narrower Candide 5.0 even. It allows you to ski centered and fast, loves to boost/pop off stuff, carve or slither in tight spots, but has enough power to rip a carve at speed too. Plus I smashed some rock sharks under the snow ….minimal ski damage. Good Nordica build. 9/10.

In summary, the Unleashed 108 skied pretty much like I thought it would….it's way lighter and more fun and easier to control (throw around) than the Enforcer 104 Free I sold. Perfect "after-pow" DD ski for me at Whistler where we ski everything in a day, cause its easy to ski, playful, maneuverable, floaty and yet its “enough” ski that doesn’t feel heavy at all. Definitely a "1 ski quiver category" contender

Here it is waiting for pow in Harmony line:

Pretty much what i experienced on my demo last spring, minus good powder. Does a lot well, not amazing at anything. Like all of the nordicas these days just well rounded and a ski for the masses.

The camber length is too much in the tail for my tastes at that mount point, i found them hooking in and a touch difficult to release and pivot in firmer steeps.

KC - you are really provoking the FOMO! I think I need some 186’s. Where in Vancouver can I find a pair? I think I need to do some holiday shopping north of the border.

haha....that last pic of pow was for you. Best price I've seen was Urban Alpine in Squamish....right on the way to Whistler. North Shore Ski & Board in North Van also has them.

I was intrigued by U108 since last year when I saw the young guns from the Nordica team around Stefan Häusl ripping those at my home mountain. I was thinking of them as a compelement to my MF108 for 50/50 duties with a Duke PT. Did a comparison between U108 191 cm, MF108 192 cm and Armada Declivity 108 Ti 190 cm, another ski which seems to tick my boxes, on soothski.com. Turns out U108 is significantly softer than both MF108 and D108Ti, MF108 and D108Ti having almost identical bending curve. I don't know how this translates to on snow behavior but I can imagine that U108 is made for lighter/younger riders. Heavier folks with more traditional skiing style may overpower those ski.
Am I wrong on this assumption?

Got some 186’s on the way. Hope to be able to compare to my 192 MFree soon. For the record, I don’t want another MFree. Hoping these share some qualities but are more low tide friendly.

That didn't take long haha. Looking forward to your thoughts on these.

I don't think your assumption is wrong. If you're 200 lbs+ and are a traditional skier and like to drive the tips ….this ain't your ski IMO. I'm ~170 lbs skiing the 180cm Unleashed 108, I ski centered, and prefer maneuverability with a bit of charginess. I don't think the Unleashed is trying to be a full on charger. It's playful, with enough strength to get you through most stuff. It feels quicker/lighter than the 179cm Enforcer 104 Free I just sold.

    Nordica Unleashed 108

Interesting. Skiers who can’t find a QST Blank in the shops might grab that 114

    Nordica Unleashed 108

Spent the morning on the 186 Unleashed 108 today. Conditions were edgeable groomers that softened during the day and gave way to soft bumps and small piles of winter snow.

Initial impressions were that it’s an interesting ski. It skis stiffer than I would have thought. It’s definitely not a soft ski. It’s skis stiff but not as damp as my Volkl M102’s/K108’s. It holds an edge really well for being 108. Would go as far to say that it is confidence inspiring on edge. Very comfortable on trail.

Tail isn’t quite as loose as the twin/rocker profile would suggest. Need to get it in some deeper snow to get a better idea.

It has hints of the Enforcer 104 but not as damp and perhaps a bit more lively. It is a different feel though.

I could see this being a great one-ski quiver for someone out west. Almost feels like that Rustler 10.5 we have all been waiting for. Not certain yet. Will report back after I have more time in more conditions.

Thanks for the initial impressions. Just mounted up a pair last night. Hoping it fits nicely between my E104F and fat pow sticks for those in between days, AKA daily driver for Tahoe resort skiing.

Since I spent quite a bit of time on the Enforcer 110, I’m tempted to make a comparison between the two. I’ll hold off until I have more time on the 108 aside from saying the 108 is a better carver, more energetic, and more fun.
