    Whatcha spinnin on vinyl?

Kids in bed. Working my way through the final side of Tom petty wildflowers with bonus tracks. Killer. Love the wildflowers album. On vinyl it is incredibly clean and sounds great.
Something about going through the effort to dig it out an put it on play. No switching tracks, just flipping sides and putting the next one on.

What albums do you love front to back?

^^^ the Allman brothers one? Great album. Would be a nice one to add to the vinyl collection.

Edit, wife did not dig the Sun Ra. Got up and left.

I recently gave my daughter London Calling on vinyl cause she’s getting into vinyl and it’s her favorite album. Four absolutely spectacular sides. Would recommend.

You can’t go home again .
    Truly a amazing comeback album.
Tony Williams Ron Carter and so many friends make this a masterpiece.
I bought this in 1977 when it was released and the stories told in the liner notes tell the story so we’ll.
If I only had this record and my turntable broke I would get a new one.
    Chick Corea

I still have most of the albums I procured late 70s/early 80s. Several of them were given to me by my older sister. Had way more cassettes and CDs later 80s and beyond though.. I still have a functional turntable connected to an early 90s JVC home theater with a dedicated grounded phono connection.

I also have a discwasher kit with the little bottles of stuff.

Not a connoisseur, 99.99999 times out of 100 I will play digital even sitting 10 feet from the turntable.

But can't retire it or the albums, even though they're pretty well played. Lots of sentimental value.

My vintage one-piece Panasonic receiver/turntable has been on the fritz for more years than I can remember, so my room of vinyl has largely been collecting dust.

Last summer a buddy visited and lost his shit at all the sealed copies of albums I had.
His enthusiasm motivated me to finally hook-up this "vintage" Technics belt drive unit I recently inherited from the rents.
As a result, I have been digging in the crates again.

    Last Week's Platters:

The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech...Just Watch What You Say! - Ice-T (autographed copy and original pressing)

Diesel and Dust - Midnight Oil (original gatefold)
"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

There are at least two pressings of this album floating around, the one from Germany is the one you want. Incredible sound on my system.

I caught Buck Meek and his band live right before I reigned in my act. An incredible concert, all Berklee grads. I bummed cigarettes from the bass player all night without realizing who he was. Buck gave me a copy of the album and told me to venmo him when I could afford to.

Same. I was lucky to live in San Diego in the mid/late-90’s.

Prompted me to dig through my shelves and I have that, as well as time for a witness and the Good Earth

Only saw the Feelies once, but it was when they opened for and then backed Lou Teed on his New York tour…
