Regarding xxxer’s wiring, if it is like my 70’s era house, the range fan was wired to a regular circuit containing lights and other non-kitchen plugs. Previous owner also decided on the micro oven above the range, and didn’t upgrade the circuit - trying to run the microwave and the vacuum/space heater/air purifier in the living room will trip the breaker. It’s on the list to upgrade to its own 20A circuit (new code for such built-in microwaves)

Canadian code still allows for 15A kitchen counter circuits that are paired at the panel and split between the outlets on 15A wire, but most now are on 20A with 12gauge romex, max 2 outlets per circuit, GFCI circuit depending on the specified zone.

I've been replacing all the shit outlets and switches w/ commercial grade and isolating loads w) pigtails(power doesn't run through outlet to downstream outlets).

More than likely told you to do so in the manufacturers installation instructions

So no, it requires its own dedicated circuit By plugging it into the countertop receptacle it could be voiding your insurance if it was found to be a probable cause of a fire.
