RIP Choco Taco
As if a global pandemic, impending recession and fears of nuclear war aren't enough, some bean counter over at the Klondike outfit figured now's a great time to kill off America's favorite Mexican food themed ice cream dessert product.
I haven't had one in years but I know my kid likes them from the snack bar at the pool. What am I supposed to tell him now?
I still call it The Jake.

Fack, I had one a few days ago.
The good news is they will still be in some gas station ice cream freezers ready to purchase years from now

I'm not buying it. At all.
It's like a Rolling Stones last tour. How many have they had?
They take this stuff away, put the machines in a warehouse somewhere, and then announce a year from now they're bringing it back for a limited time only, the internet goes nuts and they sell a gazzillion."timberridge is terminally vapid" -- a fortune cookie in Yueyang

Always would go for these at the swimming pool snack counter. One summer I had a friend who worked the counter and would hook it up for free = more coin to play street fighter with!

I had one couple years back, and definitely would have been better as a childhood memory. Klondike bars too. Unsure if the ice cream was always that cheap
now it’s-it are still good

I never had one. Always ordered the bomb pop. I could go for a McRib right about now though

Truth be told I was choosing strawberry crunch over choco taco every time.
Under better-then-than-now, I used to love basic ice cream sandwiches. Now, it almost doesn't seem like ice cream.

PM Piotrowski for its 20.
I think all that ice cream stuff is best reserved for the kids, but if you have one, and I'm tempted to find a Choco Taco now, I think you have to keep in mind that it's soft serve in there, not hand-crafted french pot ice cream similar to the likes of Graeter's or anything.I still call it The Jake.

Never tried the choco taco, more of a drumstick fan. Sorely miss Suzy-Qs, though. I know some company brought back a poor imitation of them with the same name, but not the same at all.

The Biggy Iggie and the Chewy Louie are the mic drop of the frozen ice cream treat world. Either one probably has a full day's worth of calories.

I eat about ten Dark Chocolate Klondike bars a month in the summer (and only the dark chocolate ones). I would be crushed if they discontinued them.
Things I love that are no more recently:
Rye Triscuits
Darigold Vanilla Milk
Oikos (full sugar) yogurts, lemon, lime, orange)
Hard to find these days:
Taco Doritos (but still available)
Chocolate Honey Bunches Of OatsLast edited by rideit; 07-26-2022 at 06:06 PM.

Karma. The ice cream truck drove by my house last night and I was thinking I could go for a choco taco. I lived on them as a kid. I wake up today and see the news they are going to stop making them. F. When I hear the truck coming, I’m getting one last one.
RIP choco taco.

Motherfucker. I just introduced mini-djsapp to them at scout camp last week. Fuck this world taking a shit on ice cream tacos. At least the Its-It factory is right outside my office. Need to bring a cooler this week and pick up a case.
Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp

It's funny, because I saw this news story today and how "generations of kids" ate them. I didn't even know of the Choco Taco's existence before reading the article.

I think there was a bit of an east/west thing going on. It always seemed like drumsticks were more popular here.
And I too loved ice cream sandwiches as a kid. It's not nostalgia. They've definitely gone downhill since.
