    wooley's got his eBike

Been looking for a while to get an eBike as my legs are fkt and these days I can only pedal going down hill. So I was dozing on the back deck resting from a 4 day vacay and when I woke up there was a big box in my garage. Seems that my little brother with the big heart and wallet want's me to get up off my ass and get SOME exercise. Ancheer 5638 "Mountain" Bike. 350w motor and 10.4 Ah lithium-ion battery– giving me a range of "up to" 25 miles per charge. I still don't know shit about eBikes so dumb questions will be the rule. First question. How do I start this sucker? What's the procedure? I put the bat on the charger and the 1 red and 3 green lights on the bat were scanning. Indicator on the charger was red. 1-2 hours on the charger and the indicator on the charger went to green. No lights on the bat. Now, if I press the power button on the bat, all 4 lights turn on for a few seconds then go out. Pressed and held the power button on the controller and nada. Did I mention I'm totally ignorant about eBikes?

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Sounds like your ebike turned into a bike.

When the dash gauges go dead on my Jeep I know where to pound on the dash to fix it. When the power window on the Forester stops halfway up, a few whacks on the door gets it moving. I don't know where to smack an eBike to fire up the display.

Good plan. I'd like to say something other than "My bike won't turn on." I'd like to know how to check if juice is getting from the battery. I did learn from the instructions to press and hold the on/off button on the gizmo wired to the display for starting. But it won't.

    Maybe ask in this forum?
    https://electricbikereview.com/forum...s-fixes.29331/

Or, since the bike is new, see if you can return it?

Just called the number for support in California. 626-333-4255

"We're sorry, the number you dialed is no longer in service".

    I'll find them.

That poster got a new bike and was told to keep the old one. After a month of trying. Just called another customer service # 1-626-991-8661. "We're sorry, this in box is full. Please try again later." I will.

Well I dropped the battery 1 foot on a carpeted floor, adjusted the front wheel bearings, put the battery back, pressed start and it did. I'm off!! I hope

Hoelee! Went two miles at about 10 per up the trail. Farther than I can walk or peddle. It does "jump" when the assist kicks in and I needed my old motorcycle skills coming slow through the garden back into the yard. It's all I'd hoped. This is the answer to the tsunami of mobility impaired boomers on the horizon. I see trikes and two peddler, 4 wheel side by sides in the future.

4 miles behind me is down town and the golf course. 260 miles ahead is where the trail ends.

First mods are a cushier seat for my boney old ass, a bag to keep my shit in and a sexy rear fender that I found by the side of the trail. Next mod is to find a way to raise the handlebars 2" or so.

that already IS one of the cushy seats, it would probably feel better if it was at least level

I would get one of those very short stems that angles up at 45 degree

I have found that the battery cradle connector, on my rad rover knockoff, the tabs must be lined up well with the battery oar no go juice.

I put a rear rack on mine and that helps well with my backside getting painted with mud. I also like a thud buster seat post for taking up jolts that my back no likey.

I had a loop bar on my fatty tour rig but went with a surley terminal bar which helps my back and hands a lot. I prefer an up right riding position.

    Congrats and enjoy.

I would also slam the seat all the way forward on the rails to get closer to the bars so you don't have to lean over as much ... every asshole is different
