Cerro La Hoya/Esquel: Recommendations, por favor
Plotting a quick trip south on some instinct and zero intel. Done the search here and no results. Has anyone been?

My buddy’s wife is from the area, it sounds great. Little ski area close by and good rafting. Sorry, that’s all I know.

Yes
Long time ago.
Small but perfectly formed.
Great hike to terrain.
Long road drop if the conditions allow. Organise a pick up.
Some good restaurants and bars in Esquel.
Long way from anything else.
Would return tomorrow if the conditions were good.

Here's a shot at La Hoya from many moons ago.
I recall accessing this slope by riding the lift on the far left, getting off and traversing aways to the left, ultimately skiing above a hairpin turn just below the ski area.
As others have said, Esquel is a cool town.

High quality hike to terrain is very easily accessible, without skins. With skins, the possibilities open up even more.
Nice little town, good vibe. Although I was there a long time ago as well, I think 2010.
