Gift for dad's 70th?
Classic what do you get the guy who has everything scenario. Small party for him in less than 2 weeks. Ideally I get him out to MT again for some flat water/bait/spinner fishing (he's not a fly guy). Just not in the cards for me financially right now to foot the bill for his flights etc etc.
I was thinking of a custom metal or wood engraved sign for his cabin could be cool.

Paging KQ Claus. I got my dad a nice pool cue when he was about that age. Last week I gave that pool cue to his grandson./my son.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Already did that. That's why homeboy's got no more loot even after selling Harry's fly Big Sky chalet.

LMAO. He wants him to have a good time, not a heart attack. THEN AGAIN, is there any better way to go out? Better to go out with a bang (hehehe) than a whimper, amiright?

That’s better than hookers and blow.
Although cialis without hookers is so lonely.
70 is a milestone. Not expecting that myself.
Something that is memorable and can be handed down to the next generation without being an ugly memory.
A Lamborghini Muira would be nice.

Consumables are great for people who have enough stuff already. How about some a5 wagyu?
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.

I'm 71. All I want from my kids is time with them--in person or on the phone. Alternatively, give him something you want to inherit.

My dad passed when he was 67 about five months before his announced retirement when we were going to do a bunch of stuff together. I’d give a lot (money, time, real sacrifice) for a little bit of that time. Don’t want to be weird about your question but if you like the guy, be selfish and get yourself some time with him. Not every investment or gift has to be about money or things and if you want to hang with him, make it work.

WrG - echoing a couple of recent posts, And your OP,
can you get to the party ?
I know you'd like to bring him to mt for an adventure, but going to see him has possible advantages, too - especially if you can make the party !
Good luck ! skiJ
Consumables are still good, too --

I'm going to the party. Honestly, his health is not great so wanting to spend as much time with him as possible. As soon as I close my next deal I am gonna set up a fishing trip. I think that's the best gift.
