You can use a privacy browser like DuckDuckGo to get around some of the paywalls. I've been enjoying Lanterne Rouge and Chris Horner's covereage

I use the cycling channel on Apple News. A lot of Velonews stories get paywalled, but the other sources are reasonably complete

And The Guardian has good coverage

Private mode on an iPhone works for Cycling Tips. There’s an article limit, but if you open a new window it will start the count fresh.

Very hyped to watch tomorrow's cobble stage. While its debatable whether or not this terrain belongs in GT's, its a lot of fun to watch. I wonder if we can extrapolate anything from recent cobble stages, 2018 stage 9 and 2014 stage 5. 2014 had chaos and carnage while all the GC riders finished together in 2018 with 2 small groups of classics specialists finishing ahead.

I remember watching Nibali and Fuglsang ride away from the rest of the GC contenders in 2014 as teammates while Contador was literally left in the dust as he was plagued with problems, robbing us of a competitive GC that year but it was exciting that day. Fuglsang got 2nd on the stage, I wonder if he can do something similar tomorrow. Trentin got 9th that day, its a shame he got taken out with Covid, he would have been a great teammate for Pog.

Degenkolb won the cobble stage in 2018, it was his most recent big win but somehow he made the DSM tour squad this year, I doubt we will see a similar performance again. Lots of riders from the 2018 top 10 are racing again this year - Lampaert, Gilbert, Sagan, Stuyven, Jungels, Boasson Hagen. Some have past their prime since then. I think a lot of would-be contenders will be forced to hang back with their GC-leader teammates so I expect a rider from a non-GC team to win.

Van Baarle will be on gc babysitting duty, he won’t do anything unless his gc riders can come with him. Maybe he can pull something off with Thomas

There's still a long way to go but we could be seeing the end of the GC competition playing out today.

If Powless can sneak away after a couple of back and forth attacks with him and Magnus Cort, he can win this. If they come in together, Eddy Bo-Ha wins

This February Clarke had no contract and was almost forced into retirement, can't help but be happy for him today

Not nearly as impactful as the last few times they ran something like this losing GC potentials. Tadej proved he can ride cobbles too, plus most GC guys made it safely even if some did lose some time.

Bummed Powless didn’t get it, looked good on that last attack briefly.
