Just had my first school shooting threat experience today. Some asshole posted online that he was going to bring a gun in and shoot another kid. Someone else reported the threat to SafeToTell and school was swarming with cops this morning. At noon, most parents picked up their kids, who were all texting their parents they were scared. I remember the feeling my daughter getting locked down in high school for a shooter at large around an adjacent neighborhood. It’s not so good.

I never heard of any fear of harm from practicing "Duck and Cover". But there were 42 kids and a nun teacher in my 6th grade class so maybe we saw it as a respite. I know I did.
