New Texas Law Requires Gun Buyers To Show Proof Of Mental Illness
AUSTIN, TX—Calling it a “vital” first step toward regulating mass shootings, Texas lawmakers passed a new law Monday that requires gun buyers to show proof of mental illness. “Starting today, all prospective firearm owners must be evaluated by a state-licensed physician and be able to document that they currently suffer from violent tendencies or are otherwise mentally disturbed,” said Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, adding that registered gun owners would need to take yearly exams to confirm they routinely threaten people’s lives, fantasize about murder, and actively wish to do harm against others or themselves. “Henceforth, no individual without a history of psychopathy or violence against women, children, or marginalized groups will be allowed to purchase automatic or semiautomatic weapons. And if they do not have an unsecured, unlocked area to store their gun, they will not be granted a license.” At press time, Abbott added that the state had passed further regulations requiring that anyone who had been reported to be planning a mass shooting of any kind be given complimentary ammunition and firearms.

Canada’s gun problem is on a slightly different scale than USA’s:

He’s been irritating for years. That shit sandwich combo of mediocre intelligence, low self awareness, and smug confidence in his ‘insights’.
Know of a pair of Fischer Ranger 107Ti 189s (new or used) for sale? PM me.

As I was playing with my old set of lawn darts this last weekend, I was bummed that they were outlawed so did a little research. Between 1978 and 1985, approximately 6100 children had hospital visits and three children were killed in lawn dart accidents.

So, I'm now designing a gun that shoots lawn darts as the projectile. The world deserves/needs lawn darts.

Upgrade the metal, add a sabot, and it’s a tank gun. They will always be Jarts to me, the space age packaging of the set I played with and didn’t injure or kill anyone with was branded so

We had this great game where one person would throw the jart straight up and we were all supposed to stand still. Of course everyone scattered. Nobody got hurt but that's probably because we didn't do it enough times.

This reminded me of how it’s kind of funny to refer to smokejumpers as lawn darts…unless you’re not a jumper and one hears you.

I remember a friend with notoriously poor judgement hucking one up the the air and it went after this kid like it was a heat sealing missile. Caught him right in the top of the head. Fortunately we were using the safer lawn darts that had rounded tips with 8 oz of lead in them so it only leveled him rather than punctured his skull.

That is the dumbest shit I have ever seen for so many reasons.

Was HW the last decent Republican? At least when the NRA compared the government to "Jack booted thugs" he had the decency to resign. Now it seems like comparing the gov to Nazis, enemies of the people, etc is so commonplace, even though they happily lick up all of their wealthy patrons while cursing the system like the biggest bunch of hypocrites all while their moron supporters cheer them on.

I am sorry your brain fell out, SB.
