school me on posting a picture correctly
How the heck do I post a picture correctly or at least so it can be viewed on a smartphone? Can view posted pictures on my windows desktop, but on my iphone it shows the paperclip and "attached thumbnails" only. FWIW, I'm taking pic's with the iphone, emailing to my desktop where it is a "jpeg," and then attaching to my posts. Tried an example here.

Thanks for considering. I'll try some more fiddling around when I can find some time.

I don't think attached pictures will show on smartphones.
If you host the image on a public www server and can capture a direct link to the image on that server, then paste that link between the "" tags (leave off the quotes here).
In this case, I can get a link to your image; it's : https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...8&d=1653427371
I do that by opening the image in another tab and copying the url.
To see the syntax, do "reply with quote" on this post.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

On an Android phone I use the "Full site" option (bottom of page) to switch to the full site with all the buttons and just upload using photo icon (Insert Image), browsing to the local file as I would on a PC. Then I switch back to Metro Mobile (drop down shows "TGR White" in full site mode) because the full site is full of tiny images and buttons and crap I can't really see.
If you're viewing it on the website using the mobile format that should be worth a try. No idea about apps, though.

Process for an iPhone
- take photo
- in TGR quick reply window, click image icon at top
- select “from computer” | “choose file” | “photo library” then choose the file
Note that photos are oriented as if the camera is in landscape mode with shutter on right
