Saw those and many other shows @
Park West, but it peaked in the 90s
"The Escape From New York" tour featuring The Ramones, Deborah Harry, Jerry Harrison and Tom Tom Club

I watched the world premier of this vid, of course.

Good times, getting in trouble as a teen in SoCal, skipping classes for surf, bonfires on the beach, dime bags were actually 10 bucks and it was Indica. Actual wheelchair shit. Hairspray, converse, eyeliner, and some awesome punk was coming onto the scene, too many to list but I'm sure others will delve into it.
    Metallica for the win bump….

Moved out of the Mid-west to Park City UT in 1983. Back when it snowed, a lot and before PC was "discovered".

B-52s were making a come back and managed 3 shows in SLC with shrooms and in the Salt Palace. Actually a decent music venue.

Size: 84.9 KBLove that Smokey's is in the pic.

For me, the early 80s was all about school in NYC. Studio 54, Palladium, Xenon, The Roxy, CBGB, Bottom Line, Max's Kansas City, Can Estelle's, King Tut Yaya's, The Jag (Amagansett/East Hampton). I met and partied with really cool people in the entertainment business, and saw a lot of concerts at small venues. (Pretenders, Talking Heads, Ramones, Smiths, Red Hot Chili Peppers, GoGo's, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop)

Law School in '84-'87. Met wife. Moved to Germany in '88.

Several of my friends played there. I was playing all originals at the time and played quite a few other similar venues from 86-89..

    I loved the 80s!

Not there, Haven't heard of The Jag, maybe Jaguar? I mostly played Sparks (both locations) , February's, Sundance, Weatherbys, a couple others I can't remember. .. Zephyrus did a gig at The Ritz when that was at the Studio 54 location. I joined the band a couple months after that gig. I was active there Playing rock originals with Zephryus and covers with The Hat Club southern rock and blues, Steely Dan, Robert Cray, Allman Brothers, etc.. from late 1986 through 1989.

The Jag was in East Hampton. A buddy of mine bartended there. I remember Sparks and February's from my old Hofstra days.

Ya, mostly Nassau county gigs.. Sparks in Huntington and Deer Park. Nothing east of there except one at Sundance IIRC..

I worked at MicaWorld making custom furniture at that time.. Boss was cool with the music stuff and flexible scheduling..

EDIT to add that the owner of MicaWorld took the whole crew to Huntahhhh every season I worked there.

While I never got the opportunity to go, I have a feeling that Action Park in NJ is a core 80s memory for many. Totally crazy (and awesome). Anybody care to chime in about it?

    Great album all around.

Probably some of the first to blend rap and rock.
