Ok maybe a little of this, too, it's a given Metallica absolutely crushed the 80s...
I watched the world premier of this vid, of course.
Good times, getting in trouble as a teen in SoCal, skipping classes for surf, bonfires on the beach, dime bags were actually 10 bucks and it was Indica. Actual wheelchair shit. Hairspray, converse, eyeliner, and some awesome punk was coming onto the scene, too many to list but I'm sure others will delve into it.

ZZ Top in same sentence as Iron Maiden. No, sorry, you clearly didn't get it, you've obviously never listened to their lyrics. Iron Maiden was THE metal opera. The best story tellers in metal. Nobody compares. NO ONE!! I won't challenge you to a fight but that's what I would have done in the 80s.

OK if you want to narrow it down to best heavy metal story tellers in the 80s, I won’t disagree.
Here’s three rock “operas” off the top of my head that are way better than anything IM came up with
- The Who “Tommy”
- Small Faces “Ogdens Nut Gone Flakes”
-Pink Floyd “The Wall”
“Bohemian Rhapsody” wasn’t too bad either

See my 2nd signature.
Moved out of the Mid-west to Park City UT in 1983. Back when it snowed, a lot and before PC was "discovered".
B-52s were making a come back and managed 3 shows in SLC with shrooms and in the Salt Palace. Actually a decent music venue.
2 Dead shows at Park West when Jerry was still in decent shape before he totally smacked out. Lots of other great shows at PW as well.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
"Happiest years of my life were earning < $8.00 and hour, collecting unemployment every spring and fall, no car, no debt and no responsibilities. 1984-1990 Park City UT"
