We had "Adventureland" on Long Island, known by most as "Hazardland". That place in NJ sounds way more crazy. I kinda remember people talking about it but didn't pay attention.

Wait. Adventureland was a real place? Good movie with the same title with Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, and Ryan Reynolds that portrays that 80s nostalgia vibe pretty well. I always thought it was just meant to represent any generic 80s amusement park. Nifty!

Last night this got me curious so I went and found a facebook group that has a bunch of people I hung out with late 80s, local music club group. Sad to see who's no longer with us but really neat to see old photos and people still actively posting there who were good friends when I lived in that area.

Careful man, that’s how it starts.
Next thing ya know SJG is doing his “own research” and we’re wondering if his account got hacked.

I remember going to a couple Mr T Experience shows, Cactus Club in SJ and 924 Gilman. Right around 1990

I saw them a few times right around then as well, although not in the Bay Area - which would've been great, home turf and all. Especially Gilman.
Pretty sure they're still a band, although I think Frank is the only original member.

We had a smoking area at our high school. About 30-40 kids would stand out there every morning and lunch buying/selling weed and openly smoking weed and cigarettes. Every facility member new this. To this day I can't quite understand WTF they were thinking.
Oakwood Lake Water Park, Manteca CA. My buddy's older sister and her hot friends driving us out there in her 1966 black Impala convertible. It was pure 80's bands. Y&T 6/23/84. Twisted Sister 7/23/84. Talk Talk 7/4/84. Poison 5/31/86.
The Cow Palace. Judas Priest 10/19/82. Y&T/Dio/Dokken 12/31/83. Yes 4/30/84.
I know I sound like a get-off-my-lawn old man, but fuck I want to go back to pre cell phones and internet. My kids will just never understand the simplicity of less tech. For all tech has done for safety, medicine etc... I'm not sure it was worth it.
