Time to go revisit the film, make a stiff drink, crank the theater system to 11, dim the lights, and enjoy the ride. Always SUCH a good time!

I only have it on vinyl, and honestly I think the mix is pretty bad. There's almost no bass, the drums are too loud with too much compression on the snare, the guitar tones are weak compared to LID, and everything is drenched with reverb. IMO it would take a lot of work to fix.
Such great songs, recorded so poorly. The vinyl version is the best, and it’s mediocre at best. The reverb doesn’t bother me, it adds a strange etherial dimension to what would otherwise be standard issue crisp punk. Ah, what might have been.

Completely agree. Even Living in Darkness is a little basement studio-ish, but at least it sounds a lot more like a live band.

Those guys and Tone Loc are solid late 80s party jams.

I lived in a house where this song meant an 8-ball had arrived and it was time to get started on the night.

Well I did say that it was the start of the night. 🤪. Our connection was also a bar tender so no problem connecting later in the evening. He did unplug his phone after 3 am though because he said dealing with coke heads at that hour wasn’t worth it. And you were SOL if G&R was on tour, he spent his profits flying to all their shows.

I could list hundreds more bands I like that started (and some ended) in the 80s. Here's a few that I don't think have been mentioned:

    New Model Army
    Sisters of Mercy
    Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
    Midnight Oil
    The Smithereens
    The Smiths
    REM
    Concrete Blonde
    Social Distortion
    The Waterboys
    Big Country
    The Pogues

And I don't think industrial has really come up in this thread yet, other than Ministry. So:

    Nitzer Ebb
    Revolting Cocks
    Front 242 (on tour now)
    Front Line Assembly
    Skinny Puppy
    Cabaret Voltaire
    KMFDM
    I’d add TSOL

I had heard that they had intended to cast Sean Pen and Madonna in those roles before they split...
