Arguments about musicians who get it because those other musicians couldn't possibly get it. Something that transcends all decades.

I'm kinda amused by him being thought to be both Benny and Altasnob, considering the former is too old to care about this thread, and the latter was in diapers.

I gave y'all a hint a few posts back. And neither Benny nor altasnob would need a new acct, as neither is banned.

Hmmm... if you're talking a little north of Tacoma, that is who my guess would've been.

Speaking of which, why is it that all decade discussions go straight to music and not food?
Tacoma cuisine in the 90's was probably limited to The Old Spaghetti Factory or hiding from the aroma (and showing off the mullet) in one of those lesser-waterfront bar-style restaurants owned by the two guys. You know, PJ O'Flannigan's or Dufus O'Reilly's. So maybe Ballard. Dick's. Something, anyway.
ETA, nevermind, I see he's banned again. But there's a tip in there for you, suxboy: stick to what you know.

I’ll play.
The 90s were when my folks planted the seeds for a lifelong love of dining and eating well. So many firsts for me, but a few stick out: foie gras, bone marrow and sweetbreads.
I was very lucky to have a family that enjoyed dining out and 4 hour dinners with all of us were more common than not. We were always allowed to join in wine service if we wanted after age 18 and my Dad exposed me to some truly amazing juice, and amazing restaurants, for which I am eternally thankful.
Since I graduated and left for undergrad in the late 90s, it was still a time of unbelievably shitty food choices for me. See the Meximelt thread for evidence thereof. I’m still debating if I want to relive the thrill of eating a TB Mexican Pizza now that it’s apparently back. I think the last time was 97-ish blasted drunk in a blizzard after a 311 concert. It didn’t sit well.I still call it The Jake.

My most memorable foods have always been weird things friends made. In the 80's it was microwaved hot dogs with cheese in a tortilla. For the 90's it came early--in the decade, but also in the morning. An all-night "study" session ended with ramen in seaweed and Philipino broth made by a guy who knew how.
I kinda crave seaweed ramen fortnightly these days. Anything you can eat before 5 am can be good anytime, right?
Maybe the 90's food scene was a bit too dominated by cheapness. TB's $0.39 tostadas lasted pretty long. I realize this undermines my whole premise.
