    90's appreciation thrad

Have always loved this Pearl Jam clip of Porch from 1992. Eddie climbing the crane and diving into the crowd is sick.

For sure not a lot of love for TCQ in this thread. I'm way more into them now then I was at the time.

Scenario is probably top 3 greatest hip hop song of all time IMO.

TCQ was huge in our house/scene in college.

“The word ‘maraud’ means to loot. In this case, we maraud your ears”

Our intramural softball team was even called the Marauders, in part, because of them.
I still call it The Jake.

Tribe is top tier for sure.

It's Friday on the east coast and I've been waiting to post it since earlier in the week.

The Scenario Remix with MC Hood is up there with my favorite songs. Only surviving verse from Hood as he was killed after he laid it down in the studio.

thought it was a joke, just confirming, because there are a lot of dumbasses in the PR. for all of the great things Cross has done, when I see his face or hear his name the first thing I think of is "chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot pie!".

    Oh, I am a dumbass.

When I picture David Cross, it's in Blue Man makeup, but that could just be from seeing bennymac's avatar for so long. If something was funny in the 90s (and beyond) there's a good chance that either Cross or Odenkirk was one of the writers.

One bittersweet part of the 90s for me was how great my beloved Cleveland Indians were.

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...that-never-was

They got the still-gorgeous Jacobs Field in 1994 and went on a hell of a tear, selling out 455 straight games, ripping the cover off the ball, winning the AL Central 5 years in a row from 95-99 (with another in 01, 07 and of course 16), winning two AL Pennants during that time in 95 and 97, and finding a new way to rip out the hearts of an entire city thanks to Joe fucking Table.

    Sigh, Roll Tribe.

I've got to admit I was pretty "Get Off My Lawn" about a lot of the 90s stuff when it was actually happening. I didn't find my taste for hip hop until the early 00s. Some of the rock, classic and harder rock, especially Dream Theater stuff I did dig right away though... I'm more more open to giving new things a shot at 57 than I was at 27 for some reason.. Beavis and Butthead was freaking hilarious though. X-files pulled me in too..

Just watched the first episode and it's pretty good. Amazon also did a 2-part docuseries about TKITH that is great.

They may have started in the 80's but there's really no denying they owned the 90's. One night of the week there were 30 guaranteed minutes of laughter. Much of it thanks to that dude on the right.
