Seems more and more like I will either volunteer, or just consign myself to coming in last place (which I jokingly call “pulling sweep”).

Have a great time, @rideit and @cydwhit! Weather looks good and they've been doing a ton of work on those trails. Will still be burly, of course!

Nice work mang!
Looking forward to there hopefully being a race recap with pics/viddy.
Yesterday’s hiking scout of dirty harry was super helpful to memorize lines. First top to bottom clean today!

We started at Tie Canyon on the highway. Worked our way over to Rainey Creek, hellacious hike a bike up sheep driveway, down hunts corral, and back to Rainey Creek. Was monster. I didn’t do as well as I hoped, but seeing as I was gonna scratch the night before, I’m happy.

Way to push it on a real burly day! Gonna have to retire the helmet HMS sold me this spring after a big ragdoll crash on stage 2, but otherwise was a real delight of an event.
I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone local who's thinking about riding the Cariboo Jack come out to one or more of the trail days. There were some Jackson folks (not rideit) complaining about the ruggedness of the terrain and the amount of hike-a-bike. It doesn't need to be a surprise, come help clear trail, you'll get a taste of the character of the area, and can plan your equipment and fitness choices accordingly. Or you can just suck it up and power through like RideIt!

LOL, I have been back there four or five times over the decades, I had a ‘decent’ idea of what to expect. But the death March that is the West To East Sheep Driveway was a…revelation. I had ridden it East to West before, but that was a whole different animal. Overall I loved the whole thing except for bad leg cramping. And the man-eating mud hole. But the event organization was stellar. I was very impressed with how it all went down. And los tacos están buenaso!
I think I got the ‘oldest rider’ award, too!Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

Dry Dirt at last. Trails over at 7N are in primo shape right now, squeezed in a few laps on the way back from IF today. Perfectly dry and not loose yet…..looked like they’ve been busy working on the Jump lines/pump track/skills area too…

‘22 Teton Region Cycling Thread! Don’t Choke On The Smoke!
I’ve probably driven by 7N 50 times and never ridden there. Might have to give it a try this weekend if the weather holds.
Would also think Sidewinder should be dry after this week, opened 5/1.

Walked up Channel lock today, dry for a half mile, intermittent mud snow after that and then pretty solid mud snow after a mile or so. A week of good weather and it might be gtg.

Only things remotely dry over here are tidbits of singletrack next to the bike path, out towards cache, and such. And the epic 1/3 of a mile next to the elk refuge road!

5/12, Cache Area:
If you guys find yourselves over here, Nelson- Putt Putt-Sidewalk-Wiggle-Nelson is *99% * clear (tiny little patches), and you can ad a loop or two on Nelson Butte. Two loops of that is a proper (shortish) ride. But fun!Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

Ferrin's is good from cache creek trailhead to the log. PuttPutt good to Serengeti and will be clean above that in a couple days I'd bet. Season is picking up!

I did hear that Ladyslipper and Hillbender in Southern Valley have a few snowdrifts but are reasonable to ride.

Teton Region Cycling Thread! Don’t Choke On The Smoke!
Rode Ferrins to the meadow this evening, it’s 98% rideable.
I’d think the drifts that were blocking the trail completely a week ago are the ones that now have a thin strip that’s rideable on the edge. Bet it’s clear in the next 5 days or so.
Things got muddy coming out of the trees at the top, so that’s where the ship turned around

MillCreek is NOT ready to go. Per mtbthetetons last trail status report of ‘Limited’ vs Open or Closed is pretty accurate. On/off the bike a bit and finally bailed 2/3 way to the overlook. The furkid was pretty stoked tho

Thinking of going to Lander to camp and ride this weekend, and could use some beta. Are there boondocking sites for a 21’ trailer central to the riding?
Can you shuttle, or is it all pedal? (Kiddo wants to ride again after taking a few years off, shuttling would be the better gateway drug)
Any other tips?Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

Someone over there runs shuttles on Brewers, but that won't be open yet. Johnny Behind the Rocks and the Bus will be gtg, but no shuttles. There's some dispersed camping in Sinks that I know of, and campgrounds as well. Lots of other public land opportunities though so I'm sure you could find some good camping.

My saved link to current trail conditions for MBT is taking me to July 2022. And I can’t seem to find anything updated on the web page. Am I just not looking ion the right spot or is nothing really open yet?

Had the same issue for MBT but friends of pathways seem to have shouldered the load for trail updates on WY side.
