Skiing sailing in Norway
Today we started from bergsfjord, beautiful morning.
Plan was to summit the Teton looking park kind of in the middle of the photo above. Translates to “Iron Goat”
We skinned around behind
Lunch was before the final approach, ski crampons on…
However it got kinda sketchy on wind scoured 40 degree no fall kick turns so booted up
Rewarded w great views and amazing skiing.
Then tired kids a proud parents back to the boat

So, a few questions.....
Is it just your family on the boat? Skiing pictures infer there's at least one other group with you.
Did you put this together or is this a curated trip where all the planning is taken care of for you?
Will be interested in details and financials when you wrap this up. I have a bud that owns the boat I crew/race on and he would be so down for something like this.

So
We booked through seil norge, 2 boats, guide and captain on each boat. Expected to cook, clean, sail etc….
Total of 12 clients, our trip has 10. They made one boat our family….other boat is a mix of 30 something’s from Europe and the states.
Minimum age is supposed to be 14 but they made an exception for our kids.
If you go to the website all the financial info is there. Not crushing…prob less than a week at a Disney resort…def less than a week at a vail resort (fuck vail)

Today was a bit of a”loss”
We skinned up from the boats
When arrived at the first col the weather had seriously turned. Rain. Large snowballs rolling in from above. The guides decided it was time to head down due to avy danger. Glad they decided since kathryn and I were having the same discussion
Found a nice dry lace to change at the dock
No wind at all so powered to a place w a sauna and showers. More on that later

Massive respect detrusor. I am the father of 2 girls and we are constantly going on adventures. The resilience and capacity they acquire with each adventure is amazing. I am gonna go ahead and assume that you have spent years doing stuff with your kids. I hope everyone realizes that getting kids to buy into this type of adventure is a lifetime pursuit. Behind everyone of these pics is a dad who chose to make his kids his adventure partners. Again...huge respect my friend!!!

Spa evening with a large fresh caught cod waiting to be cooked.
Damn kids made me jump in the ocean…easily the coldest water I’ve ever been in.

I'm inspired. I'm not sure it'll look exactly like this, but I hope to do some wildly adventurous things with my kids when they are old enough. Way to go, and thanks for the inspiration! Fair winds and following seas.

My few take homes
1. Always check your passports, then have someone else check. I previously had no idea you could get one in a day.
2. We way overpacked. I guess we had reasonable weather but still too much stuff.
3. Huge props to marker for sending me a free half set of kingpins to bring with.
4. Wish I had brought my kusalas instead. The BC’s were a little under gunned in some of the super weird conditions. However, they were pretty awesome for the up and 80% of the down.
5. Kids are amazing. Also the other guests were incredible….think about your reaction if an 11 and 12 year old rolled up to the ship after you booked a trip like this.
6. Norway is incredible!

Our guides were Tore Karlstrom
https://www.fall-line.co.uk/a-day-in...ore-karlstrom/
And Jordi Tosas
https://adventureblog.net/2017/03/vi...rdi-tosas.html
Couple of pretty great guys.
Also I’d be remiss without a huge shout out to the missus. She found this whole setup and encouraged it from its infancy. Anybody who knows her knows she was better than me.

Nice TR! I was on another boat with SeilNorge around the same time. I think we were supposed to link up with you. It looked like we skied some similar spots and the same sauna.
