    FS: Transition Spur - Medium

    EDIT: SOLD!

Medium 2021 Transition Spur. Bike has one season on it (in a 3 bike quiver, so maybe 500 miles or so). Bike is a non-stock / custom build. Overforked at 130mm with a Fox 34. Also includes some extras (see below).

Bike is in good shape and ready to ride. Has some normal scuffs from riding, but it's pretty clean. Cranks have some rub marks and nicks from rocks. Frame has a dyedbro frame wrap protecting it.

    The build:
-Medium Transition Spur Frame - 120mm w/ RockShox SIDLuxe Shock
    -Fox 34 Factory Grip2 - 130mm
-Hunt All Mountain H-Impact Carbon Wheelset
    -Shimano XT Shifter
    -Shimano XT Rear Derailleur
-Shimao XTR Crankset (w/ 32t Wolftooth ring)
    -Shimano XTR Chain (new)
    -Shimano XTR Cassette (10-51T)
-Sram G2 RSC brakes (w/ new 180mm rotors)
    -Fox Transfer Seatpost (175mm)
    -WTB Koda Saddle
-Whiskey Carbon bars - 780mm wide
    -Easton stem - 50mm
    -Wolftooth headset (w/ new bearings)
    -ODI Grips
-Maxxis DHF / DHRII (2.5" front, 2.3" rear, both EXO / Maxterra) Tires are used but not trashed.

    Included extras:
    -34t XTR chainring
-spare XTR chain (used, but still has some life in it)
-1 spare 180mm rotor (it's toasted, but it's straight and good to have as a backup)

It's listed on Pinkbike for $5900, but feel free to throw offers at me. I'm a semi-reasonable person.

Killer build. Forwarded to a friend that’s had an order in for long time.

That's pretty much exactly what I want as my other bike right now, but we just bought a camper and need to get a new tow vehicle in the next few weeks... so, I'm broke... again.

    someone pick this thing up!

As pictured it was around 27.5. But those wheels are pretty burly. There was a pound to be saved in the wheels pretty easily.

    Fast!

Was not nearly enough time to convince my wife to triple her budget.

How was it with the 130? Mine has the sid ultimate which has already drveloped significant bushing play and I feel like 130 would make the bike ride even better.

Yeah, as it turns out, medium spurs are rare. There was a bit of a feeding frenzy on pinkbike.

It was... OK. Definitely better on the down. And I'm sure some of that was the 34, which is a good bit more fork than a sid. But I noticed the taller front end on climbs - it was a little wandery on steep stuff. If I were to do it again, I'm honestly not sure if I'd go 120 or 130.

I’m curious if you had to ship it? If so, was it a pain in the ass? I’ve listed a few bikes on Pinkbike, but alway local pickup only. Lucky SLC is a pretty big market.

Yeah, I shipped it. Pretty easy, mostly because I already had a bike box and packing material ready to go. Shipping is expensive these days though. Insured for full value, shipping was about $250 (via bikeflights, which was by far the cheapest).

Of course, there's always the risk that the transaction will go sour after the bike arrives since buyer bought it sight unseen. But that thing was it pretty good shape, so I think it'll be ok.

Yeah, ShipBikes dropped FedEx (or vice versa), so now BikeFlights is the cheapest again… and with UPS it’s not cheap. I’ve been paying $40-50 to ship a wheels when a couple years ago it was half that.

It was a hard drop by FedEx.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
