Ski boot rivet tools
What is a good tool to replace rivets on ski boots without breaking the bank? The svst tool looks like a good option but I can't find out how to buy it or how much it costs. Lots of bench options but not much handheld that looks like it would fit into a boot.

SVST tool would be at least $280 to you if and when they are available.

Unfortunately this is in a carbon cuff, I don't think T nuts will work particularly well.
I went to a local shop who recommended a pop rivet from the inside to the outside(if I install the normal way it will leave a big bump on the inside of the cuff, no bueno)
I was hoping to do this either local or by myself, but I called skimo.co and they will do it cheap($15) but then I have to ship there and back.
I'm not feeling particularly good about using a hammer and anvil so I will probably send off to skimo.co

T Nuts, Chicago Screws, & Pop Rivets
I've not tried solid rivets, but I would have no idea how you would install without a specialized tool to hold the backside of the rivet when forming the opposite head."Poop is funny" - Frank Reynolds

I fucking love those boots. DGAFF what they look like. Don't think my neon green Krypton's are any better looking, but don't care about those either!
I make both boots look good

The Hoover press-n-snap tool is the unit that SVST sells. The rivets are Semi-Tubular Rivets. They work great, I liked using them for a clean booster strap install… hard to warrant the money though for the home shop.a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
