Lance had better play well. If the Niners start 1-3 and he's got more picks than tds, he's going to find a spot on the bench.

We'll see how much of a leash he gets, but so what? This whole idea that having a good QB behind him is going to be too much for Lance is laughable - if he can't handle that pressure then he's not the guy we need anyway. The alternative would be Lance shits the bed and then 49ers fans start bitching about how we shouldn't have gotten rid of Jimmy...

I have never been a fan of the Lance move. I just think we gave up way to much to move up to get a guy that had played less than 20 football games. He may end up being good, but that's too big gamble in league full of bad first round QB's.

I don't know what the fuck Lynch and Kyle are thinking. Was there a plan? Was this it? Did they just get bad luck with the timing of Jimmy's surgery?

Lance is in an ideal situation. He has the playmakers, O-line, defense and coaching to flourish.
    I think he'll be fine.

Oh, I'm not arguing otherwise. I'm just noting that he won't get a long leash. It's a team with Super Bowl aspirations. He's either going to perform at a level where those aspirations are plausible or he's going to take a seat.

The Niners won't take a 7-10 season to try to develop him with a competent alternative ready to go. The rest of the roster is ready to win now.

    Football starts tomorrow, woot woot!

Good read on the Russ trade. He has some uncanny valley vibes to him, this explains some of it:

In case you're wondering where OBJ is going to land, he's hinted it will be Bills or Rams, but only after he's seen them play:

Ultimately his big contract was their downfall when they didn't have money to spend during his prime. This was all predicted early, very early. Russ should look at his bank account and accept some responsibility for a watered down team the last 5-6 years and no serious consideration for MVP, que Tom Brady and taking a bit less during his prime.

    I am a big jimmy g fan

He makes a great living in a fun team to hang out and train

Backup qb is better than being a pro golfer

Correct. If Lance is playing like shit and they're dancing around .500 halfway through the season, there will definitely be a random / phantom injury for Lance.

The Bills hype has reached ridiculous levels! I've lost track of how many pundits have them winning the Lombardi.
It's not a feeling the fans are used to, but bring it on.

Browns and Lions fans are welcome to join me in a short prayer as the season begins tonight...

Bless us, oh god of Lake Erie
    Bless us all
    May our defense be stout
    and recover the ball
    May our offense be able
And may you accept this sacrifice of a folding table
    Bless us all

I saw a vid on twitter of a beer truck delivering pallets of Blue's to some bar in LA.

    It's a cult, but a happy one!

Well feels like the Bills should be up by at least 14 here, not tied.

Looks like the Bills are still comfortable with getting their QB killed.
