    Shit, here's the whole poem:

Dark star crashes, pouring its light into ashes
Reason tatters, the forces tear loose from the axis
Searchlight casting for faults in the clouds of delusion
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?
Mirror shatters in formless reflections of matter
Glass hand dissolving in ice, petal flowers revolving
Lady in velvet recedes in the nights of good-bye
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?

Such a great thread. I will share a small GD story.
A good friend of mine (P.S) grew up a Dead Head. Starting in around 1975 when he old enough to drive, he would take off from his home in suburban NJ and follow the Dead around the country, sometimes catching 5 shows/wk. He was a typical Dead Head. Young, smart, athletic, industrious and stoned. He has eaten a lot of acid. When he was 18 he headed to Portland. He started growing weed and still lived his life around all things Grateful Dead. Eventually, he moved to Maui and tried very hard to start up a micro-brewery, but was stalled because locals considered him a Howlie. After 2-3 years of hard work, he packed his bags and returned to the mainland, First Cali., and then back to Oregon. During this time, he met his wife (A.S.), at a Dead concert. She too, was all about the Grateful Dead. They were probably married around 1995, and they spent most of their time in the Canabis industry and touring with The Dead. By this time, they were procuring backstage passes to any show they wanted to attend, and were attending maybe 50-75 shows/year. All was hunky-dory until AS and Bill Kreutzmann started getting a bit too friendly. Fast forward to about 2006. AS came home and told PS that she was leaving him and was going to marry Kreutzmann. This, she, in fact, did. As far as I know Bill and Aimee are still married.

The members of the Grateful Dead must have thousands of great stories about woman. Some of my favorite GD lyrics are about women. Here is one such lyric:
    She's got everything delightful
    She's got everything I need
Takes the wheel when I'm seeing double
Pays my ticket when I speed
She come skimming through rays of violet
She can wade in a drop of dew
    She don't come and I don't follow
Waits backstage while I sing to you
“How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher”. — Jimi Hendrix

Interesting story. It's a hell of a bet to become the 5th wife of a musician that tours most of the year, but I too believe that Billy is still married to Aimee.

Sugar Magnolia is about Weir's girlfriend (at the time), Frankie Azzara, who went by Weir for a number of years even though they weren't married.

Really sucks that I was at home not doing anything. Tickets for Billy Strings were expensive, but I would've paid up had I known what was going to happen in the 2nd set.

While I don't know how expensive, I'd pay more to see Billy Strings at the Ryman than I would for today's Bob Weir.

Since I came down from Oregon
    There's a lesson or two I've learned
By standing in the road alone
    Standing watching the fires burn

The northern sky it stinks with greed
You could smell it for miles around
The good ole boys in the Greystone Hotel
Sitting doing that git on down

Bobby is completely washed up. It was actually the low-light of the night. The rest was off the chain.
