A coworker recently found like 100 loaded pistols in every conceivable crevice of his dads rural fortress.

For me: stupid amounts of bike parts and obsolete ski trash and skateboard bushings and a bunch of helmets I should have used more and a truly incredible amount of tools and supplies and leftover bits of 100s of dumb fiddle-around garage projects and a hundred spark plugs and every fluid that would go into every machine and vbelts and chains and fuel filters and old gas for campfire explosions and wiring harnesses and surfboard repair shit and lumber and metal and on and on and on. It’s a real ripe shitstorm of handiness around here.

Just sitting here typing this on a bench by the shore, some yuppie lady just herded her offspring so as not to even walk near me. Look of terror. That's a real special feeling, apparently just sitting here looking at my phone is terrifying to the condo class. Don’t they understand I probably have just the vbelt and tensioner their garage door needs?

When my Dad passed I got the miserable task of cleaning out his stuff and rehoming or liquidating anything of value..

Viagra. Lots and lots of Viagra. We knew he was, aww.. umm . . 'active' but that was something.

Beyond that the most surprising thing was his email account. There three distinct exchanges that should have been red flags about his deteriorating mental capacity.

One was a message he sent to some old friends after missing a lunch they planned together. In the message he apologized for not making it there, he had the address but couldn't find the restaurant. (It's well known and at a major intersection)

Another message was a reply from a friend saying 'Hey I think something's wrong with your email, it doesn't make any sense' that he didn't reply to.

Can't recall the third one atm.

He died of brain cancer and prior to the diagnosis we didn't see the signs fast enough. Weeks before we noticed he was forgetting words but we chalked that up to old age.

In regards to those emails, I'll always wonder if he was aware something wasn't right but never told anyone. (this isn't to blame him in any way, I and my siblings are the ones that didn't pick up on the speech issue)

Sorry for the slight tangent there.

What I didn't find that still worries me is he had a small box somewhere of WW2 era bullets, just a handful and they were in pretty rough condition. Really wonder where they ended up.

Get high, tell her you ate the cake and put the dogs’ ashes in the trash. Let us know how it goes

    just came to mind.

i was 13, i hid my first bowl under a small trick ramp i made in backyard, behind dads shop/kinda shed. old school metal chamber style, full and slightly used at the time. ended up missing so of course next day while everyone was out i search the house first

found it empty and clean on dads dresser in an old wood box with other shit like coins, rings, etc. never heard shit from him over that, never.

we he passed that clean bowl was still in the box, same dresser, different house.

    i left it

I just had to clean out my Mom’s stuff after her passing… one of the oddest things found was this pair of Beaver pelt gloves. No idea what/why/where/when but they are super heavy duty and I’ll definitely rock them for a ski day next season! Then they will probably go back in a bag for my kids to find one day.

Am I the only one who clicked the link in the OP and was disappointed at the complete lack of interesting or hilarious shit that was found?

Probably as boring as what people will find in my place. I do hope they finally find all the shit that always disappears on me.... multiple camping headlamps, hex keys, 1/2" and 10/12mm sockets. Seriously, where do those things go? Oh, and the years-passed expiry condiments in my refrigerator.

HA! My parents just brought over (Easter) a box full of VHS tapes, mostly Simpsons (some YO MTV Raps). I should have watched them. (But, not having a VCR was kind of in impediment to accomplishing that. So I chucked em in the dumpster) The funny thing is, I originally taped them all so I could SKIP all the commercials! Now, I could see that being the fun part as you said

Long, glossy hair and each glove has only one seam line at the forearm/gauntlet section so each glove made from one pelt or section of pelt. Too big to be Muskrat or other Varmint. Also beaver is a traditional fur for hats and gloves.

If it looks like beaver and feels like beaver, I’m going with beaver.

Very cool! My friend's husband stashed money in books around the house.

My GF had her horse cremated and sent them to me to bury on my farm with all my horses (non-cremated remains). I have a rather large animal grave yard.
