+1 to the big wedge pillow, and to sleeping upright. I slept on the couch for over a month after my shoulder surgery.

My shoulder was in a sling for 6 weeks, and it got REALLY stiff. Pendulum swings and moving it with a pulley(pulling it up and down with my good arm) were critical to keeping some range of motion for me. I still had to do a ton of work to get ROM back once it was healed enough to lose the sling.

As for getting into a shirt, I cut a slit down the sleeves of a couple old button up shirts( all the way to the neck), then my wife sewed some buttons into it, so I could put it on without having to move my arm, then button the sleeve closed. It looked goofy AF, but at least I could put it on by myself.

Good luck, hope you recover quickly!

Same here. Tore mine in 2011, never fixed it and suffered through 15+ more dislocations until I finally had it repaired in 2020. 6 months of no skiing or biking but it feels so much better now.

    Best of luck.

I just caught up too. Vibes, WRG!

Reading about the horror of dislocations that won't reduce is enough to make me happy that both of mine pop in easily with just an arm throw. (Of course they pop out just as easily, so there's that.)

Tore mine at the last dinner (when I was about 25). Ruined my nascent basketball career as it would dislocate every time I jumped (there was no career I was horrible). Then I moved to Tahoe and it would occasionally happen jumping off things while skiing. But gradually things tightened back up and 30 years later the only difference is a slightly limited ROM. At the time I did it the doctor said the only reason to do the surgery would have been if i was a baseball or basketball player or something to that effect.

Fuck, vibes WRG. Just saw this thread. From personal experience, rotator cuff surgery 9 months ago, I highly recommend sleeping in a recliner. A wedge pillow may Not get you upright enough. Get well dude

Maybe this shoulder thing is the universes way of making you dial it back so your covid can heal, since you weren't listening to your doc (or me).
But seriously--I'm really sorry to hear about your injury, want you to get better soon, and FWIW the shoulder I dislocated is my good shoulder.

    Maggots in Grand Junction...help please.

Selling your bike seems so wrong WRG. You’ll want that once you get on the other side of this injury.

Gimp sale: Yeti MTB, 29er carbon wheelset, other stuff
    - Reynolds TR309 laced to I9 Torch with DH tires. XD Driver installed, but have brand new Shim Microspline in box I can include for addt $30. Bought from racing buddy and I never used them. Don't think he put many miles on. Some scratches. I have same wheels on my enduro rig. They are legit. SOLD

    - Yeti 780x35 carbon riser bar. Used for 1 ride before swapped out. $50

    - 2021 Yeti SB115 Turq T1 build, Size Med, upgraded bars to OneUp, V2 EDC steerer tool installed. Only about 200 miles. Really do not want to sell this. Fucking awesome bike. Assegai DD tires installed with some life left. One top tube scratch from a bonehead transport error with a folding chair in the truck bed that hit the frame. I used yeti official touch up paint on it. Bike never crashed otherwise. Firm on price. $5200

Local to Bozeman preferred.....or buyer pays ship which may take some doing on my end one handed.

Do you have a Venmo account or PayPal account we can send money too so you can stay afloat without selling your stuff? Alternatively, you or a buddy close to you should start a GoFundMe account.

BTW, I have a buddy in Bozeman recovering from torn quad surgery. You guys could gimp out together. Heal up.

maybe PREP the bikes to see IF needed? this time of year, and in this market, should be easy sells. but will be HARD to buy back if you end up wanting/needed them again?

How about if we all chip in and buy the Yeti and WRG holds on to it for security.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I'm in for a few bucks. Probably the closest I'll ever get to owning a Yeti.
