In an exception to the Clean Air Act, Biden will allow E15 gas to be sold this summer

it already consumes 35 percent of the U.S. corn crop @ 10% so currently the U.S. devotes enough land to corn-ethanol production to feed 150 million people. Bumping it up to 15%? well you do the math.

That is not even taking into consideration the other problems with ethanol
I agree on your points about increased usage of corn to provide fuel for vehicles, but I do wonder how much effect it will have.

I own four vehicles and not one of them will take E15 fuel. I do think the current US vehicle fleet is not set up to run E15 so the effect will be minimal, no more so than e85 more than likely which has an incredibly low take rate comparatively.

The cost of insuring a ship sailing in the Black Sea, through which much of North African and Middle Eastern staple foods are imported, is spiraling out of control due to war risks. Chartering a Suezmax ship from the Black Sea to Italy costs about $3.5 million—but the insurance adds another $5 million.

Fertilizer shortages starting to become more front and center. Prices rise dramatically; farmers apply less; yields suffer; food shortages arise; geopolitical instability ensues.

How does one effectively hedge for this?

Make sure you have a plot of land to grow on and some seeds. Also, start saving your shit for fertilizer.

    Or go full prepper?
