As a drummer, this saddens me way more than usual. I loved watching him play, seeing the love he had for his job. I hope this doesn’t end the Foo Fighters, but I’m afraid it does. And this all pales in comparison to the loss felt by his wife and kids. So damn sad.

He was also apparently a monster fast mountain biker. RIP.
That said, I think I only know 3 or 4 Foo Fighters songs.Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

I don’t care how much people call them “dad rock” or other names, these guys had fun. RIP Taylor.

RIP Taylor Hawkins
Saw the Foo once at ACL Fest, didn’t know a single tune and was totally impressed. Arena rock band that delivered, started following Taylor’s career a bit after that. Dude brought a lot of positive energy to life, sad news for sure.

His contribution was much more than just being the FF drummer. He started out with Alanis M and was involved in Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Deathmetal, and other groups. He also seemed to be the go to drummer for those super group performances at award shows and the R&R HOF.
Very sad indeed.

Sucks....local police leaning that it may have involved drugs. This is going to crush grohl and the band.
Rip for sure

I thought he'd been sober for a while?
What a shocker to wake up to this news. Loved his energy and playing, and seemed like he was probably a pretty genuinely good dude. Seemed also like he and Dave were major homies.
Respects to his family, and the band. What a shitty thing.

I saw something about an unofficial toxicology release, and the early answer seems to be "all of them Katie". No, certainly it wouldn't have been the weed; it's easier to OD on caffeine than cannabis. Cocaine (wasn't mentioned, I should note) has been associated with heart failure, and opioids (was mentioned) as well. In any case, sad and tragic.

10 drugs in your system is a lot.
Rock star level.
Plus his heart was twice the normal size?
RIP.
Great drummer.. . .

Who knows…. Plenty of people take multiple prescriptions. That’s kinda useless info without knowing what amount of what drugs.

Some great stuff at the 2 Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts.
Danny Carey playing YYZ with Geddy & Alex
Wolfgang sounding just like his dad on On Fire & Hot For Teacher
And there's a ton more!"The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."
