Holy shit. MLB sent juiced balls to Yankees games while Judge was making his HR push.

Damn, what year is this, 1998?

Also, welcome to Cleveland Josh Bell. Interesting to see how him and Josh Naylor are platooned at 1st/DH.

Looks like the juiced balls news came out the second Judge announced he’s going to SF.

Yankees have no shame. None. Putting an Astros-level asterisk on all the recent championshi………

In a surprise to absolutely no one, Emmanuel Clase wins AL Reliever of the Year.

Along with Diaz he was one of two relievers named to the All-MLB first team as well. Glad he's locked up for a while.

Giants bidding 10/400 for Judge? He'll be missed, but not by the Red Sox, Jays, Rays, or Orioles.

ETA: Correa to The Giants also? They're going to trample the Dodgers 18 times next season.

Phils are just spending now. Love to see it, will be a far more functional lineup w Turner at leadoff and Shwarbs 3 or 4, especially w Harper out till the All star break likely. The pitching deals were needed too, they may go w a 6 man rotation w Painter up also to keep his innings down and reduce the load on Wheeler and Nola

That would be amazing! Especially considering they'll only play 'em 13 times.

So what does everybody think of the new MLB scheduling with more interleague and less divisional games, but where each team plays every other team every year?

Huge disadvantage for west coast teams IMO. Instead of 3 trips to the east coast, it'll be 5 or 6.
Sure everybody wants to see their team matchup against the marquee franchises, but in the AL, that's really only 2 or 3 teams. So instead of rivalry games vs the Dodgers & Padres, there'll be way too many half empty ballpark matchups vs those other 12 AL teams.

I see it completely the opposite way.

Arguments that the so and so's only play in a poor division and therefore not a "true" contender are gone. Arguments that "if only they had to play in the AL East" are gone. End of year discussions that center around "well, x team had to play this juggernaut and the team they're fighting for a playoff spot didn't isn't fair" is gone.

It's time for some old ghosts to die. Everyone plays everyone, the pitcher batting is dead, and maybe this year the Yankees will allow all their players to look different than bald, lumpy white guys.

Just kidding, let's bring on the pitch clock, and keep guys in the box, but banning the shift is stupid; they're no offsides in baseball.

    $360MM to a 30 year old.

I'm happy for any player that gets paid. But how is that $40MM a year going to look when he's 36, 37, 38, 39?

    Ooof.

Ten years from now the Yankees will still have Judge and Stanton striking out 200 times each, and they will be paying the ghost of Mookie Betts $65 mil to be on the IL for 2/3rds of the season. Jacoby Ellsbury will be their manager.

We got used as leverage. Judge was never coming.

What the fuck is wrong with SF? We can't get anyone to come. I'm losing faith in Farhanball.

Judge signed. Now re-sign Benintiendi and go hard after Rodon.

As much as I want to laugh at SF, I think you guys dodged a bullet with this one. Four years from now that contact is going to look nasty.

You're probably right as far as on the field, but this was also a butts-in-the-seats, team morale/prestige kind of thing. I feel like you have to take chances and potentially eat a bad contract to get momentum. Obviously Farhan thought the same thing, but for whatever reason, A A Ron didn't want to come home.
