Also Yankees fans calling the Astros cheaters is rich, as the 2017 Yankees were using the instant replay feed to steal signals (though aside from the occasional month of May and even this years division title they still haven’t won shit in a long time…)
Wait, the yanks were fined some money while the Red Sox and Cheatstros lost draft picks and had their employees suspended. The Yanks cheated and are in a group of teams that included.... probably everyone. If you want to give them a bronze for 2017 after the Sox' silver and Astros' gold medals, fine. But those teams were also warned and instead... kept going.

    Also, David Ortiz did steroids.

Awesome interview for those who still care about the relics of radio and calling games:

Baseball on the radio is where it’s at. Always will be. I’ll give that a listen.

Also, if we get some Choad like Bob Costas wining the Ford C. Frick Award this winter and Tom Hamilton gets passed over then I’m giving up and going across the street to Benny’s Hall of Juicers, Pretty Good and Bar and Grille.

(Might be common knowledge) but I was amazed to learn that Ronald Reagan had a lengthy stint calling ballgames on the radio. He wasn't actually onsite, or actually able to see the game, but would create his broadcast by deciphering codes for various plays he'd receive in real time by telegraph.

    /Carson voice/ I did not know that. /Carson voice/

    Pretty cool.

In award season news that should come as a shock to absolutely no one, Guardians President Chris Antonetti has won Executive of the Year.

Any time you make it as deep as the Guardos did while 18 rookies make their Big League debut (and contribute), AND get a perennial MVP candidate to stay at home taking a massive discount, yeah, you done good there Chris.

Your NPR informed this otherwise clueless canuck as I driving through Co some years back. Just searched for the segment but didn't find anything.

It was super interesting, from learning about his personality, his professional showmanship and ability to improvise quickly live, and some other political connections. Not a huge fan of him but it gave a unique angle to view this character from.

This gives a quick summary https://www.reaganlibrary.gov/virtua...n-and-baseball

Costas won the Frick in 2018. Jack Graney, former Indians broadcaster won it last year, so it might be a while before another Cleveland ‘caster wins it

    Best line of that story,

with one “longtime executive” saying, “I get that it’s World Series or bust, but damn they’re spoiled.”

Tell us Yankee fans, do you feel spoiled?

True, but he’s been dead for what, 45 years? You’re probably right, I just want Hammy to get his due.
