    From Twitter:

“Incredible note from Tom Verducci on @MLBNetwork: Judge is 282 pounds and will be signed through his age-39 season. He'll have a chance to become just the second player ever to hit a home run at 270 pounds or more and at age 37 or higher.

    The other was Bartolo Colon.”

Yeah. Something like $2.5 billion in guarantees so far this year.

I hope you’re right, because fuck the Padres, but that lineup is going to be stacked. If their pitching staff stays healthy I’d say get at a front runner next year.

I’m becoming convinced the Dodgers want to get under the tax to reset their clock. That way they can offer Shohei half a billion next year. May as well give all of their top prospects a chance to prove themselves this year.

I'm impressed with the Padres spending, but yeah, seems a little too long term. Must be flush with cash from all of us having to replace our Navy gear with brown and gold. Will be interesting next year.

Will be interesting to see what they do in the field. Put Tatis in the outfield? Move Xander to third and let Machado DH? Put Xander on first? They have like a billion dollars worth of shortstops.

I can’t see them having Machado DH. The guy is the second best defensive third baseman in baseball. I’d guess Tatis moves to outfield and Xander plays short.

Ha, yeah, lots of short stops. Tatis in outfield would be my guess, no way Machado is not (planned to be) at 3rd. Kim to 2nd.

I don't get why the Sox won't give Correa 8 years at SS. Not that I want to see it, but he'd be great in Fenway. Is there some sort of beef with Cora or are they just allergic to spending money besides wasting 90M on that new import? WEEI is going to need more interviewers to sanity check the public when they have 50 losses at the all star break next season....

Today, in 1971 the Metsing Mets traded Nolan Ryan (plus Leroy Stanton, Don Rose and Frank Estrada) to the Angels for Jim Fregosi.

in MLB's continuing pursuit of stupidity and alienating fans. Opening day is March 30.
Now I would pull my son out of school for Opening day and take the day off work, but Yankee Stadium March 30 does not appeal!

Also, number of Day games on schedule ( only really scanned Yankees as they are closest/easiest for us) gets less every year which is criminal
