The only thing surprising about this was that it made the news.

Growing up, trick or treat was always the last Thursday in October. I just read that there’s a push to change it to Saturday. Not here to defend Utah weirdness, but I don’t think that’s all that unusual.

Um, why isn't it on, you know, Halloween, like the rest of the known universe?

No idea. I’ve lived a couple places where that was the case.

Halloween has fallen on a Sunday a couple of times in the last few years. That presents a slight conundrum for the faithful members of the LDS church who are supposed to refrain from fun on Sundays.

Halloween is on the 31st. The cult can fuck right off with always doing shit their weird ass ways.

Bag, I get that you might think it’s normal because that’s how your little town did it but it’s very weird to me when everybody else celebrates it on the 31st.

Should they change Christmas as well to another day?
    No.

I’ve lived and traveled all over this country and Utah is by far the weirdest place ever in the Continental US.

Christmas and New Years are Federal holidays. Regardless, Thanksgiving is a more apt comparison; who in their right mind would be in favor of Thanksgiving being on a different day of the week every year? There's nothing sacred about Oct. 31, and as a "party" holiday having Halloween always be on a Friday or Saturday night makes plenty of rational sense. Mid-week Halloweens in college were a huge buzzkill.

No Dan, it’s momos pushing their agenda on the rest of us because their cult leaders tell them no fun on Sundays. It’s not rational at all.

Not my fault you didn’t go to WVU, where every Halloween night was a rager regardless of school night status.

Actually, it would make a shitload of sense to have Christmas on the same day of the week every year, too. It's not like teh baby Jeebus was actually born on Dec. 25th.

What is your rationale for that? I’m trying to wrap my head around this.
