There was a time, not that long ago, when only teenagers drove like a bat out of hell. Now it's soccer moms, joe sixpack and people under 80 years old. Ban seatbelts and airbags. Bring back pointy dash knobs and stylish steering columns shaped like a spear.

The scariest part of Utah drivers is their lack of awareness.
I have driven plenty of places around the country where the drivers are more ‘wild’ or selfish but SLC takes the cake for drivers that maneuver without giving a fuck.

Adds some spice when it rains at night and the lane markings disappear.
I’ve driven a lot around the Midwest, CO front range, Utah and even 2 years in California; I-15 is the worst, no doubt.

At least winter driving conditions slow the morons down.

I almost got taken out coming back from the dog park this morning. 10AM, road barely plowed as we're in a small quiet neighborhood. Said road is quite winding compared to most of SLC grid-aligned stuff. No sidewalks of course, we don't have those here. I'm crossing the street at a 4 way intersection, speed limit 25 mph, lady comes in going about 40 and tries to make a left. She gets sideways and slides in front of the dog and I, we'd have gotten tagged if we hadn't stopped and taken a few steps back. Lady angrily shakes her fist at me, backs up, makes the turn, immediately pulls into the driveway of the house on the corner, gets out, and screams at me not to stand in the middle of the road. I was so frazzled I just walked away, don't think I had ever seen someone drive that stupidly on snow. Clearly saving 5 seconds getting home is worth killing a pedestrian over...

Will consider. I walk by that house daily to walk the canine, I'm sure she recognized me, or will from now on. On the plus side, the dog takes really nasty shits and even when doing my best cleaning is approximate at best. I'll probably be less motivated to do my best when she gets after it in that particular yard.

Pedestrians can never do the right thing....
I got yelled at once rushing across an icy street following a once a year Vancouver snowstorm. Dark out, early morning and no one around. Hit the button at a pedestrian crossing and walk out. There is a truck coming half a block away, tons of time. I'm all the way across when dickhead gets to the intersection. Window already down, he yells "you asshole, I can't stop when it's like this". Then slow down, shit for brains.

I found this funny per my earlier comment: "It's not a racetrack," Burr said.

Hah, I've driven by that a bunch since it's close to the 9 Line jumps, cool to know the story. I was expecting this bump to be Enoch-related.

We do hit up 9 line jumps from time to time, but i had not approached 9 line from this direction before. I had no idea it was there until my wife spotted it after dropping the dogs off at the sitters. We researched it, and it's funny, dude started his own religion etc all to be able to be mummified and buried in a pyramid.
sigless.

Utah made it to the austrian broadcasting main news page!

They talk about antennas on the peaks around SLC, with a reference to the monoliths from 2020.
