That was great. Loved the map he shows on the territory that Ukraine has gained in Russia. Click image for larger version.

    Fuck Putin
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I'm liking this move. "We won't fight for your gas lines or nuclear plants, we'll cut off the power. Time to be halt the enemy supply from the rear and kick them in the derriere

This is smart. Turning the tables of an indefensible 1500 km border on Russia.

Anybody seen anything informed about the ZNPP cooling tower fire? Who put the tires there?

I attended engineer school once, and my understanding is this type of tower uses a natural airflow, and is open air in the middle. Water is sprayed in the bottom, and cooling water lines are embedded in the concrete tower walls. Heat rises, drawing cool air in the bottom, and the sprayed water evaporates, cooling the air further. I'm suggesting the tires were put there intentionally to burn them. There's normally nothing in a cooling tower to burn.

So was ZNPP cooling tower designed with a pile of tires for some reason? The tire presence suggests intent. Also the fire likely destroyed the cooling tower's usefulness for cooling. So ZNPP is half a power plant until it gets more cooling.

All the reactors there have been in cold shutdown for months.

Russians are responsible for the fire at ZNPP. It's yet another example of them using nuclear threats to achieve their goals.

Since Georgia isn’t in NATO is there an opportunity for them to claw back some of the land Russia has been stealing for the past 20 years? A little undercover support could be a huge headache for Putin and what he’s been getting away with there has been grossly unfair, which includes moving the border 50 meters at a time to expand Russia under the cover of darkness in various towns.

    Fuck Russia and Fuck Putin.

It's tough because bothe the territories that Russia seized and then ethnically cleansed of Georgians would be hard to hold onto in a Russia counter attack when they weren't distracted.

Georgia was absolutely overrun by Russia... if Georgia had blown the Roki tunnel it might have slowed things down, but now Russia holds the tunnel. Georgia is tiny and Georgia is too far from the West for us to support unless Turkey decides they are 100% on board. This opens the counterargument which is "well, if that is the case, and Turkey were on board, why can't you have Azerbaijan vs Armenia v2.0?" The answer is maybe you could...

The Azeris steamrolled the Armenians in a preview of what drone warfare was going to look like in Ukraine, and it was in mountainous terrain like Georgia instead of the plains of Ukraine. The Armenians expected Russia to swoop in and save them, and Russia didn't put their troops in. But it is different in Georgia where the Abkhazians and Ossetians are considered Russian. Putin didn't care too much when the Armenians got fucked over (again).

Interestingly Goergia is overrun right now with Russian nationals who fled the Russian mobilizations for the Ukranian meatgrinder. They might be a problem if your goal was "let's liberate the parts of Georgia that are occupied by Russians."

German prosecutors seek to arrest Ukrainian man for 2022 Nord Stream explosions:

Key points understanding the context in which the NordStream sabotage took place,
    • There's no evidence of Ukrainian government involvement
    • Russian military intelligence (GRU) trend of hiring non-Russian citizens for sabotage attacks in the EU
    • Russia had motive and military capabilities on site at the time of explosion
    • The era for Gazprom in Europe is over

    Ukraine

Interesting impact of the Ukraine War that I saw yesterday in Duluth.

There are two types of ships in Duluth, lakers and salties. Lakers are the ore ships that never leave the Great Lakes. Salties are ocean-going ships that enter the Great Lakes from the Atlantic Ocean via the St Lawrence Seaway.

Yesterday there were 2 salties at anchor in Lake Superior about a mile offshore. I inquired about why they were at anchor and the reason was interesting, and directly related to the War.

Both ships were owned by the Polish government, and were part of a fleet of 10 new ships designed and launched this year to bring grain from around the world to Poland. It used to be that Poland got all the grain they needed from their next door neighbor Ukraine. But Putin fucked that all up. Now these 10 new ships are making nonstop round trips to Duluth picking up grain from America’s vast wheat fields. The fleet of ships had loaded so much wheat that the massive grain elevators in Duluth had been completely emptied out, and the 2 ships I saw were waiting for more trains to bring more wheat to Duluth.

I was not expecting that my trip to Duluth would involve the geopolitics of the Ukrainian War.

One of the ships is visible on the far right horizon in this pic.

interesting. the Polish farmers were all up in arms about Ukrainian grain imports. Apparently they have no problem with Canadian grain imports?

Or maybe those guys with the farm implements weren't really interested in the price of wheat at all. Maybe.

Nonsense. Most of the MAGA crowd, for example, are convinced it was a joint CIA & Norwegian opp. Back in reality, two of the alleged perpetrators hold dual Ukrainian/Russian passports and are currently living in Russia. It's like the Murder on the Orient Express, everyone wanted the pipelines gone, and now that it is gone plenty of people want to pin it on Zelensky including a small military faction in Ukraine.
