We were still working on variants quite recently, Boeing is set to support them through 2055, and total production has passed 100k, so there should be a few around, right? With current versions flying on F16's, F35's, Reaper drones, etc.

Outdated Russian countermeasures certainly wouldn't hurt. But it seems like the increased range going from the tail-chasing AIM-9B to the all aspect L (1980's) or more recent X (both of which can attack a target head-on) would be useful for a cheap drone that gets sent out to project a no-fly zone, say, 10 or 20 km into Russia, right? Point being, that goal may be achievable with more drones rather than more Mig-29's.

I'm not clear on whether adding passive radar to the old thermal imaging would require a very sophisticated integration of systems in order to work on a TB2, so I'm assuming yes, but maybe you can comment. Still no Reaper, but it's something.

Many of those sidewinders, being western, likely got retired for age or too much handling/flight. They might work, but might not, so it isn't worth sending them to war to find out it failed giving your enemy the upper hand. Hauling duds on a $40M jet is a waste of both the jet and the pilot hours, and might get both lost.

I was referring to mounting current Sidewinders on TB2 drones, not grabbing garbage from mothballs and sending it out on a B-2. (The reference to the AIM-9B was WRT the Russian copy of that--neither of which are likely to be around anywhere now.)

I don't think Ukraine is getting Harpoons. If they do, it would be appropriate to sink the Moskva (BSF flagship). But I have heard they are just getting retired Sea Skuas, which have a 28kg warhead. These are very small missiles that are useful against smaller landings craft and patrol craft, but not a cruiser with missile defense systems and probably not even a frigate unless you fire a lot of them and get some secondary explosions.
