Read an interesting article in the Economist about how W Europe is actually positioned fairly well re: natural gas supply. I thought Pootin had more leverage.

Indeed, let's have an apolitical PR thread about a completely political event.

Very few ppl in the world are so privileged that they can studiously ignore politics. And very few people on the planet can afford to get a lot of resort days. Here is where those sets can overlap in peace. So awesome.

BTT: The Northwest Passage is now viable due to global warming, and Alaska has enough gas to supply Europe for the next Age. Build a fleet of LNG icebreakers. Profit.

No real good options. Might have to go all in.

Regarding the NWP, Alaska, and the Arctic in general, hopefully people have been paying attention to Putin's military capabilities on what he decidedly considers his pond. The Rooskies have an advantage there and I don't see them hesitating if things get going in the wrong direction.

Gazprom and lukoil down 15+percent today and more in the last week.
Great dividend and 25 percent appreciation potential short turn, and a lot more long term.

Timber, is a rye, rye or a swirl rye, like with pumpernickel?

    Cause I like both.

They should give this a little air time on Russian TV. The best anti-war movie I've seen. Gonna want to use Closed Captioning. "Come and See"

It's like this. It's quite dense, so you can slice it fairly thin if you wish and the loaves are 18" long. Makes excellent sandwiches. Just to clarify, it's from Lithuania not Ukrania. I apologize for the initial confusion.

For a rather esoteric dining experience, slap some of this on it. It's like German vegamite but not disgusting tasting.

I wonder if we have Theatre EMP generation weapons. We could fry every circuit board in western Russia and put this all on hold for a few years. Maybe Putin will keel over by then, he don't look so good lately.

    It doesn't matter.

Large area (city or theater) EMP is a countervalue weapon. You are wiping out food production, supply distribution, hospitals, heating, cooling, water, you are targeting civilians. Military equipment is hardened. Retaliating in kind includess thermonuclear warheads against population centers. High altitude nukes for EMP are a component of total nuclear commitment. Don't go there.

I am here to do my part
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
