Well, Musk doesn’t either, but capitulating to Putin isn’t going to be the answer.

Musk should stick to trying to figure out how not to buy Twitter. But he did provide Starlink satellite service to Ukraine and now Iran.

Everyone wants Russia gone, hugh, even me, even if that would leave you forced to accept the shortcomings of the democratic party on their own merits. (And my kids will go hungry once those Russian paychecks dry up, amirite!?!)

If the Ukrainians are willing to die for it I wont stop them, but when we encourage them to do it knowing full well thereís a chance weíre going to fuck them over in the end with a settlement like that it should be a viewpoint considered.

Now go back to masturbating in the dark while thinking about how smart you are.

When the Russians start to lose Crimea, is when...... probably best to kill the bridge first and not just plunk it with some strategic holes.

we encourage? Jimmy stop sucking your musky dick that mistakes contrarianism for intelligence. and next stop legitimizing a dipshit billionaire who’s just pissed he built a factory in an expensive heavily regulated country that’s now got an energy crisis so his turning into a money inferno and wants the government to give him money (again). It’s all the fat coke whore does, shitpost about things he knows nothing about, get handjobs from middle aged dumbfucks, and misuse government funds

May be worth keeping the bridge. Maybe blow up an easily replaced section, or keep it intact for Russian retreat. Eventually Ukraine and the Krasnodar region will be friendly trading partners.

I'll try. First off, in human history to date, war doesn't end, but this one may end for a few years. In northeastern Ukraine, Russia has performed its special retreat operation. Ukraine respects the international border, yet Russia continues to shell Ukrainian positions, and threaten invasion. In the future, I see Russia retreating across the border everywhere. At that point, both sides may agree to a ceasefire, especially if it's clear to Russia that Ukraine has sufficient military power that it doesn't need to stop. Unless the Russia threat diminishes, Poland and Ukraine become military powerhouses. Perhaps Germany and France too.

Russia ripped up its "international community" card, and will have a difficult few years, potentially decades to restore trust. There will be political upheaval due to losing the war. Regardless how that sorts out Russia will be a weakened state, probably sanctioned and closely watched.. Ideally for Russia, they fracture, though I can't tell how likely that is politically. While Moscow is a colonial power and colonies can split - Stalin and others made strong effort to unite regional identities. The benefit of fracture is the resulting states will be both not-Russia, and less threatening. The successor states would more easily reintegrate into the international community if they choose.

Intelligent commentary on recent war events and does Putin want some nookie?

Analyst Justin Bronk says - there are few political or military benefits for Russia using tactical or strategic nukes in Ukraine and many ways the rest of the world likely makes them hurt if they do. So logically they won't. Also logically, they didn't invade last February.

Bronk also says Nordstream 2 is repaired already? Maybe I misunderstood.

They talk about planes first (host was an F-14 officer). Then recent war happenings. Then the nuke topic.

WSJ: A fascinating read with great pictures about volunteers and civilians who worked the early part of the battle for Kyiv:

The Ragtag Army That Won the Battle of Kyiv and Saved Ukraine

It's behind a paywall (try your local library's online offerings) but fascinating, compelling, couldn't-stop-reading type of story.

Homemade drones dropping grenades on tanks, military vets fixing trucks and taking up arms, civilian interactions with Russian soldiers, and mention of elon musk's space x starlink, it has it all. This will be the basis for a movie sometime.

If Ukraine had surrendered unconditionally as Cono & Rod repeatedly pleaded to happen and submitted its people to torture and oppression and execution, Putin would have turned his attention to Poland and the Baltic states. Now, that's not going to happen. Maybe Cono Rod and Percy can buy each other beers and commiserate over what might have been.

The fact is Elon and anybody else coming up with peace plans is operating under the illusion Putin has any regard for foreign peace plans. The same is true for anyone operating under any illusion that appeasement will prevent Putin from escalating. The reality is Putin has zero interest in foreign plans and he decides whether or not to escalate.

There's nothing anyone other than Putin can do to deescalate. He shot the hostage, he burned his bridges, there's nothing anyone or anything that can be done to turn him back into the Cheshire Cat of international politics. People blaming America or Europe for escalating are effectively Russian stooges. That doesn't mean people who are frightened and concerned about the nuclear threat are wrong. War is frightening. It's normal to be afraid. But the horrible truth is we are not in control because the fault lies with Putin.
